Wasn't sure if i just cored him, or ammo explosion. but he was really angry in chat. Screaming at me to watch my fire. I don't think I personally was responsible for the death, as he crossed my firing line which I had been utilizing for prob 4-5 solid seconds, but I apologized of course. It's merely a game.
Other players were telling him to calm down, but it just got really ugly. So. Lesson. It's a game guys. TK's are going to occur. It's happened to me before as well.. We all do the best we can to keep our weapons on target, but sometimes Friendly fire happens.. Move on.

This happens...often.
Lesson to lights, and any other mech on the move. Be aware where you are. More importantly be aware where your team mates are. FF can't be helped if you wander in between an Assault and his target while he is blasting away. Guess who's fault it is. Not the Assaults (who is most likely zoomed in to help target damage to a specific area and has no peripheral vision until you fill it with your back torso).
Can't tell you how many times a night this happens to me. I am blasting away - from 250 meters or so, and some jerk jumps between me and the target in a heavy trying to get their one or two hits in (with plenty of room for their own firing lane if they would just have some situational awareness), or a some fast moving light decides to run 5 meters away from the target to blast away with a medium laser and winds up eating an AC20/AC10 combo. The first should have been avoided, the second is avoidable.
I don't apologize for other peoples stupid actions. Consequences teach lessons as well as words (and often better) is my philosophy

This sub-forum exists, so you can share your good times and your bad times in MWO. This thread is about a bad time and has the same right to exist and to be talked about, then the next about a glorious battle on <enter map name> or about the heroic pilot <enter pilot name>.

I find a guy alone, start in on him in my light, next thing I know somebody on my side
is pouring in fire from a distance. I get hit often like that, but luckily not TK'd often.
Usually have to break off the attack and let the big guys do the job. ( And get the dmg points
and kills. ) Oh well.........

This, if I walk into the line of fire of a team mate and get killed I would not expect an apology for my own stupid mistake. All I do ask for is, do not try to kill a enemy mech through my mech, my mech will still stop your bullets until my mech dies.
Also if you see a friendly mech brawling a enemy mech and you want to help (help is always appreciated I am not kill hungry more win hungry) pace your shots and try not to hit the friendly, that means if you are boating all the lasers and AC's you could find don't mash down on the button.
