Sounds interesting, though the CC does seem a bit underwhelming at first glance....

And how you do you get the weapons in? 4ML +4mg amnd 1 ton of ammo is exactly what the TC MK VII weighs.

So it will probably have to stay at the "imagine" level of use. :P

Not to mention that IS mechs cannot mount clan equipment and vice versa.

1. The IS command console

2. Drop engine size, drop 1/2 lasers and and/or drop JJ. Totally feasible.

The Targeting Computer on the Warhawk (and Adder) better be removable at least until they actually do something. It's going to be a pretty disappointing machine if you're stuck with lugging around several tons of nothing with it.

I really like the idea for the targeting computer. I'm looking forward to using it on July 1 :P

As for the Command Console, I think that it would be awesome if it could provide an additional module slot, AND allow up to two targets to be shared with the team by the 'mech that mounts the Command Console. That would simulate the extra pilot/unit commander at work designating additional targets on the battlefield.

Why would anyone want to drop 3 tons for small buffs that are only minor benefits?

If it is a command console, which ideally adds a benefit to the overall performance of the team through a centralized command "post", then why not give it the added benefit of providing the listed benefits to all team members within the same range as ECM cover?

A priority target select would be nice as well. Maybe make it a third color (yellow or purple?) so it stands out from the normal targets. If a C3 equipped mech takes command at start up, then they can select the targets, but they show as priority on all team mates' HUDs.

I am trying to figure out exactly how a Targeting Computer is supposed to affect the speed of a shell in the air. Doesn't shell speed have something to do with the propellant inside the shell casing? Range would have made more sense, quite frankly... even though you just took steps to downplay Inner Sphere Autocannons by reducing their range.

Are those target information gathering buffs stackable with modules and the Active Probe? Hey... come to think on it... what exactly does the Active Probe do... or the ECM Suite? Are you planning to give us full information on the weapon statistics, or will your player base have to reverse engineer your game for ourselves? Ten days out and we still don't know important information such as this to incentivise a Clan Package purchase.

IS command console does not increase crit chance. Since the post you originally quoted specifically spoke of the raised crit chance, I felt that clan equipment was explicitly implied. :P

Though I do see how I may have been misled in assuming a MK VII by reading FupDup`s post immediately after the one you had quoted ..... Apparently he FuppeD me up again :P

Agree. The command console should buff all friendly Inner Sphere mechs (but not Clan mechs).

However ECM range is way too short. I personally think the CC should have unlimited range. Besides giving it a range limit would be largely self-defeating, since you would have absolutely no need for a sensor bonus, if youre standing that close to a mech that already has a sensor bonus anyway.

CCs also should not stack. Having multiple CCs would be for redundancy only.

I'd rather the command console give half the current bonus in a radius around them similar to ECM that doesn't stack with other command consoles so you can't get 'overbuffed' by it. This gives it an effective 'command' element without going too far with new things.

I expected something like this from the clan TC...
location of ammo - heat - target direction - engine type - speed ---- etc:

In addition to detecting heat... engine type, speed and ammo location; I would like my targeting computer to inform me of the clear line of sight between the barrel of my guns to my reticle... i don't want to shoot the hill top in front of me when i have equipped a computer linked to all my direct fire weapons... like this somehow:

Half the current bonus sounds about right. However I feel the range should be unlimited so scouts still gain the sensor range bonus. Also I already explained above why its self defeating to give it a short range.

That was actually one of the planned modules. Supposedly it would allow you to highlight enemy subcomponents for allies to target.

a question

the fact your increasing crit chance with this could that mean your thinking of adding armored components?

While that looks nice, what about the different sizes?

Not bad. Command Console will be handy for scanning other 'mechs.

Two points:

The targeting computer looks awesome. a really useful piece of equipment that will have a significant effect on the mech's performance. The weight will affect the ability to place it on mechs, so weapons or armor will have to be sacrificed. NIce.

The Command Console, on the other hand, looks like a waste of 3 tons. What in the Command Console has anything to do with command? I am really disappointed with this design. I was really hoping that it would create some functionality with the map, maybe the ability to call in an air strike or artillery strike from the map versus having to lay a cursor on the point. Maybe the ability to designate priorities for enemy targets to your team, you know, I click on mech alpha on the command console and all of my teammates have that mech's radar color turn a color to designate him as a priority target.

Come on Devs, give the command console some effectiveness befitting the name. For three tons, I'd rather get more than another BAP module.

maybe each additional function can be bound to a certain class of TC with the highest class of TC a mech can equip (depending on its loadout) having the full set of functions.

What I make of all this (weapons /TC /other stuff): Overall Clans will possibly take longer to open you up, but they will absolutely terrorize you once that happens.

4xLBX10 and a TC on a Dire Wolf, for example.. :P

Honestly I wish the command console was a tool for community warfare, giving a field commander the option to watch a game and giving commands without having to pilot a Mech. The map options are way too complicated. Adding the old 'attack my target' would also be nice and very sufficient.

That would have required some effort and ambition on the part of the developers.

But even the easy, unambitious option was apparently beyond this developer's ability to code in time for launch, despite having two years to think about it and implement something clever and meaningful.
