Does this mean we can blame you instead of PGI for the current FLD pinpoint damage meta? :)

Now that the flaming has stopped, why not get serious here and talk about FLD.

Is it a better method?

Personally I think not. But I want to hear your opinion.

When I play with my team I run anti ECM and anti-pop tart. I have been getting more successful but tend to think a good sharing of other tactics might be worth it.

Care to share?

What do you think of the coming Fall Damage and JJ Heat systems, assuming no changes to the current terrain / slope / invisible pebbles system?

If you could go back in time, what would you change in order to win the last tournament against HoL?

What can be done to get back to brawling?

Also, in your competitive drops, what is your positioning goal against the other team? Do you prefer to act first or setup defensively and react?

I too apologize for allowing myself to be dragged into the trollfest, it was not my intent.

Alright, I have a few questions:

How many points of rear armor should a mech have depending on its class/speed?
How much, in your experience, does AMS help against streaks?
Do you think LBX is a good brawling weapon?
What is the easiest way to destroy a Dragonslayer?
Do you think Firestarter needs a hitbox rework/increase?

These questions may come off as a little offensive, but I don't really mean them to be. Just curious how a high calibre meta player views these topics.

1. How easy is it to successfully sync-drop?
2. With the implementation of 3/3/3/3, does the sync dropping crowd plan to circumvent it to continue the abuse? If so, how?
3. How do groups with meta builds [and inflated winning percentage] fight off boredom?
4. As a group, would you welcome a queue that had groups of any size, 2-12, even if the matchmaker created uneven teams?

Thanks in advance if you choose to answer any of the above. Again... not trying to be a jerk... just curious.

Thanks for taking time to do this, and being patient enough to get though the inevitable flames by people that truly do not get that you are trying to foment good gameplay and balance.

If all things remained status quo with game balance (we know it will not, but humor me here) what can be done by teams to beat the current "meta", without using said "meta" what are the keys to the castle? Give us the kryptonite to the "meta" I know this will not be one thing, it will be series of things. My opinion is that fast brawling is the one true bane of the "meta" if played properly, but it has to be done almost flawlessly, and brutally fast to be effective in this regard.

TL/DR
Primer for how to beat the top teams, SJR/Lords (and others) are masters of the meta, what is your secret fear someone will do to beat you? Not fear per se, but worry, or secret thought on the matter.

Assuming for a moment that the JJ heat + fall damage tweaks are going to make jumpsniping less favorable, will hill humping with high mounted weapon hardpoints take center stage? What are your thoughts on this?

I noticed that on a couple of occasions you voiced your ehm... 'displeasure' about the thought of stalkers hill humping for the entire game on both sides. I'm quite interested in this with me being an avid stalker pilot that likes to use the very high mounted laser hardpoints combined with the high mounted cockpit to full effect right now. Will I have to change my playstyle if I want to continue to challenge the meta with a slightly less meta build?

thought of another two:

#5: Over the course of the last two years, interest in competitive play has fluctuated. With the release of private matches, interest once again started to increase. Has the increase interest continued? or was there a fall off after the newness of private matches wore off?

#6: What does SJR look at when considering a player for joining the unit?

What do you think about the 3 mech mastering system?
What keeps you playing MWO ? (Its fun is not a valid response)
Would you use your most hated built if it became meta?

  • Do you feel ashamed to run a Meta build all the time?

That's an obviously biased question.

You assume that he does run meta-builds all the time. (Y U DO THIS?) Obviously you've never been watching his stream. There is a misconception in between what people consider "viable" and what people consider "meta". As soon as you declare everything viable a meta-build, and you don't want to run meta-builds, you might as well just stop playing this game.

At this point, I have a question for Jager:

What's your definition of a viable build and what is your definition of a meta-build?

You are correct, I don't waste my time on his twitch. Only guy worth ever watching on twitch was BuzzCutPsycho in Planetside2. Everyone else is just subpar.

I could answer these:

1. With a private lobby, incredibly easy (not against PUGs though)...without (PUG queue)...you are better off not trying and have it happen by accident.

2. Abuse? LOL...there is no sync dropping conspiracy.

3. By playing the game.

4. Yes.

Does PGI have much interaction with the 'top tier' players? Do they take balance feedback from them?

Do you think the general forum population is on an island?
