that idiot poisoning that grand old tree was pretty dang low, no denying. Plus as much as I think he is the best coach in College Football (especially since most of his players suck as pros) I really really don't like lil Nicky Satan.

I'll keep rooting Stanford, and the most insane marching band in America! (how many stadiums are they banned from now? And Disneyland, lol!)

I'm American, I care about the World Cup. Will be taking days off of work so I can watch it and get drunk. Probably won't make it out of group.

Also watching the SCF. Watching the NBA Finals because I'm originally from Miami.

Honestly, caring about sports is exhausting. I envy people who don't.

Spain/Germany is the only game that intrest me in group play and it's tomorrow. No need to get your panties in a bunch over Croatia vs Brazil which is today.

omg, someone gets it...

P.S. the cost of bringing this tourney to the country was roughly 60% of their annual education budget... Furthermore, fifa is continuing an extremely archaic business model that essentially prays on the wealth of the host nation...

People with hearts grounded in reality are not supporting this event... wake up sheeple

Same type of **** happening with the beloved American Football.
Ever take a look at what the NFL does? It's disgusting.

Makes money? Because plenty of schmos are willing to pay in?

It's a shame PGI didn't try to emulate their model.

America and Canada don't really care about soccer, and that's where most of their customers are so... Canadians are more concerned about the Stanley cup, though not so much since Montreal got beat out.

Seriously, Soccer (ok "Futbol") is about as interesting to most Americans as a Dart Tournament. Nothing against the game, it just doesn't register that much here.

Who the hell schedules a major playtest at the exact same time as the start of the World Cup? Really? You sell all those flags to adorn the interior of our mechs and it doesn't dawn on you what most of the citizens of the world will be doing at 2:15 PM EST on June 12th 2014?

Love to play with the new toys but unfortunately there is something bigger going on.

Haha yeah, especially for Europeans and South Americans here very dramatical!

Nah, **** like this: In Stadium Building Spree, U.S. Taxpayers Lose $4 Billion

So the NFL makes the fans pay for the stadium, then charge them hundreds of dollars to watch the game, charge them insane mark-ups on food/beverages/merchandise - then sit back and laugh as they pull money in by the truckload.
(ie. Roger Goodell - NFL Commissioner - Net Worth = $75 Million.)

Lets not forget about the cheesiness of the NFL League Office being "Non-Profit / Tax Exempt" despite the fact that it makes billions of dollars every year.

It's great that practically every facet of our society is being gamed to allow the rich to get richer at the expense of lower/middle classes.

Anyhow, back to the regular thread....

If you say so. Winter is pretty much just January and February. December is just a slightly cooler version of October. As for Buckeye fans they pale in comparison to the absurd levels of ridiculousness that a lot of soccer fans have achieved. :) If you really want to talk about a downside it would be the humidity in the summer. 95F and 98% Humidity feels like getting hit with a ton of bricks when you walk outside.

World Cup? Isn't that for the game like hockey without sticks, pads, pucks, hits, fighting, scoring, and all the other fun things about hockey?

when it still snows into May (possibly not this year) I consider that Winter. Or maybe as Antarctic Summer?

And hey, I lived through a decade of the Church of St. Tressell. No thank you to the Church of Urbie! (unless it's Urbie-Mech!)
