I'd Still Happily Use Clan Er Meds & Smalls If Heat Was Increased 60%

Speaking of which, if you doubled the reload time on Clan LRMs, I'm pretty sure they'd still be perfectly useable.
As someone who does not anticipate buying any Clan 'mechs (though I will admit it's very tempting to get an a la carte Timber Wolf or Dire Wolf, if Sarna prices are any indication), I'm prepared to stop playing MWO for a couple months until I can buy my 72 point alpha Nova for C-bills.
PGI said Clan weaponry would be hotter to make up for their superior range.
C ER Small:
0.5 tons
5 damage
2 heat
cooldown 2.25
duration 1
Range ~180m
Clan ER Medium Laser:
1 ton
1 slot
7 damage
5 heat
3 cooldown
Duration: 1.3
Range: 450m
Compared to the IS medium laser, the Clan version has a superior heat to damage ratio. 30% longer beam duration does not make up for almost twice the range and 50% greater damage.
If anyone wants to duel 1v1, in a Nova versus some IS medium or light... maybe even a heavy! I'd be more than happy to give it a try. Note: I'm not saying I'm a good pilot, I just think Clan 'tech is that superior. If we want to set up a duel for about 3 hours from now, let me know.

In a game where front load damage is king, I have to disagree.

I haven't played around with the CUAC10 or CUAC20 Dire Wolf. Front loaded damage is very powerful, but can IS lights or mediums mount lots of PPCs or autocannons? You can do a 2 PPC Cicada 3M pretty easily, bu they're not THAT good.

And people would have been calling for nerfs sooner if PGI actually released their proposed stats.
I was considering posting about LRMs seeming too good prior to this public test, but I figured that maybe PGI altered their reload times. Did they? Nope. Granted, the LRMs are more of a stream and less of a cluster, but I don't think that makes up for the raw tonnage savings.

So you want to be a Clanner without Clan mechs ?
So you wanted to nerf LRMs before they were even tested, and you want to nerf everything else too?
"LRMs too good"? Honestly I am not sure we can trust your feedback.

LRM 80 Timber Wolf with 7 tons of ammo sound weak to you? LRM 70 with 10 tons of ammo?
Can you do math? This Timber Wolf would run what, 85 or 90 kph with speed tweak?
Oh, and these LRMs eventually won't have the IS weakness of a 180m minimum range?
If Clan 'mechs had less stock armor, the LRMs had a greater reload time or heat, then maybe I'd feel differently, but I was expecting Clan LRMs to have SOME disadvantage. They don't, except that their damage is spread out over 1 or maybe 2 seconds versus IS LRMs.
Right now the Clan's greatest weakness is the inability to swap their engines, but they can lose their side torsi without dying... so that's not much of a disadvantage.

Or are you literally throwing a tantrum because "numbers"?
Clan LRMs are powerful but they get shredded by AMS pretty badly.

I have, most of the day.
Do you think its any coincidence that PGI is releasing an instant radar loss module with the advent of the Clans?

You're right, PGI has done such a great job of balancing this game so far. How crazy it would be to think that when they introduce an entirely new set of weapons that there might be some imbalance.
Don't get me wrong, the Clans are awesome, I love the new effects as well, and I can't wait to play a Nova with 16 weapons for real, but the Clans definitely feel strong. Too strong.
As long as PGI comes to their senses in a timely fashion, I suppose it's no big deal, but some of the clan weaponry is plain ridiculous. The Clans have not been nerfed in any significant fashion.

Confirming that lacking the easy pinpoint damage of IS mechs is not a significant nerf.
