Guten Tag from Bird Land!

KAETETôã

is where you have landed

You are here because your thread was bad

and needed to be made better

WE do that here.

In fact our tireless threadsmiths

work day and whenever they feel like it

to improve the badness you tried to

inflict on the forums

Now before you think this be

a lawless land

you must see the 10 Commandments*

*for now

And we have our holy text

Sacred Pages penned by the MODS themselves

And

The Gospel of the MODs written by Acolyte of the Word RoadBeer

Also

it is compulsory that

you allow your ear drums to bleed to

I mean

listen to the

BATTLE HYMN OF THE MODS / POST LERIAN JIHAD WAR CHANT

But more than that we

strive

to make the forum a better place

to provide a place to relax

a place to worship the MODS

and the ELDER MODS

that we may be smote last when comes

the Digipocalypse

Please

feel free

to let your freak flag fly

unleash the birds of war

welcome my... people

to K-town.

sad, just going to another games fourms just to bash mwo... and star conflict of all places which isnt really a game yet, many promises that might go perfectly for them or just as bad as some in mwo with time.

Why not just move on and have fun elsewhere?

When I left another game that I had loved for years I just left, I still turned up once in a while to see "advancements" but I didnt go elsewhere to trashtalk.

When I took a 3 month break from the tedious "daily grind" and the constant game crashes in Mechwarrior online and other frustrations I went to other games (planetside, war thunder, skyrim) came back eventually and things are much better and still improving (games more stable, better communications) and I am having fun.

All I see here is people who stood their ground throughout other problems (3pv, ecm, jjs, lrmapocalpyse, poptarts and so on) and then just getting really pissed off because they cant completely ROFLstomp the poor pugs in 5-11 man groups that looks like the tipping point of this threads topic...

Oh but I was... I just took a breath and moved on, left my clan/group who were my family for the 3 or so years and just looked for fun elsewhere.

A lot of people put their hopes and childhood dreams into this game.

They, Us, We, all have or own memories of how cool the game is or was and when it didn't live up to those expectations we, us, they, I, blew a gasket for one reason or another. For some it was a PGI saying X and never doing it. Or PGI saying no 3rd person then giving us 3PV. For others it was a specific instance (for me it was the AC/2 nerf and them not saying anything about it for weeks on end, then saying it was a mistake then saying it was intentional.)

After a while a person runs out of hate, or passion, and go find something else to do.

And that would be the big difference - those who go on.... and those who scream butthurt.

Those who show maturity..... and those who scream butthurt

Back in my younger days when I was deeply involved in air-combat simulations I was the epitome of the over-the-top zealot and as one would imagine with my penchant for high quality verbalization, I was a holy terror to forumites and developers alike... Then I had an epiphany... I delved into the industry as a contract 3D artist.

In short order I became self-aware of the functional cost of development and the difference between design deviation secondary to necessary concessions and the perception of a developer hell-bent on self destruction. (Clue: They appear to be one and the same from the outside world)

I learned quickly to roll with the punches and drop the self-imposed indignation and simply enjoy things are they "were" instead of grousing over what was promised or implied.

I'm not saying everyone should just roll over and accept mud pie... The ability to reason and accept compromise is not within everyones wheelhouse...

That said, I'm a much happier PC game player having come to grips with the realities as they exist in the PC gaming industry.

PGI is culpable of making many..many boneheaded decisions... That said, they are but one of many developers that have fallen pray to their own hubris and delusions of grandeur.

I dunno if I am happy - but I am at least not screaming hurt about it - which means the people around me are happier than they would be otherwise

Oh, don't confuse complacency for irrational acceptance... There are many things I wished for MW:O to be (and deep down I hope can still be some day..).

I'm the type of person (now) that will eat around a grisly piece of steak in a restaurant because: a.) I don't want to wait for the server to get me another because I'm hungry "now" and b.) The rest of the steak was perfectly enjoyable and I find depriving myself of that enjoyment silly in order to make a greater point.

Not even mentioning the possibility of the server or cook vindictively spatting on my Porterhouse in defiance. :P

So...when does this happen again? And is there anything we can do to help speed the process along?

It's like the 5 stages of grief, but they can't get over the anger phase. I've seen 15 year olds get over being dumped by their girlfriends with more poise and dignity!

Aren't there rules as they pertain to cruising high-school hallways for jilted girlfriends? :P
