Piranha has already pulled in $1 million in preorders on a free to play game. That's amazing news for the future of the Mechwarrior franchise.

Hey Hawkeye... last time you said you've mostly automated the process... Have you considered taking a sample every 24 hours to do a chart showing Sales Over Time? It might be interesting to see when their sales spike or dip, and further, how those sales spike/dips can be correlated to their announcements, since a lot of people claim "Oh, the leaked beta footage will make people pre-order" and other such claims, but you'd be adding a level of statistical clarity to that, adding proof for or against those claims.

This actually would be possible. Though I need to find a way to initiate the process from my phone as I am heading on vaca here soon and won't have access to my computer for a week. (Don't quite have a mobile version working yet)

Off to do some digging...

And of course the sons and daughters of lowtax brought the Capi's up in ranks.

Anyway as always a toast to our benefactor Hawkeye 72 for his numbers, charts, and pies.

I use a free Android application called Wyse Pocket Cloud. It allows me to link my phone to my computer and I can completely control my computer from anywhere that I can get a signal with my phone.

I use it all the time, works great!

For the initial batch I went to all their websites and looked at their official roster or estimated based on their unit forum member count. As this becomes more well known, I am having a lot of units submit their corporation numbers to me so we can create an accurate demographic of how the mercenary units are broken down. .

Thanks for the detail... Awesome job!

Well I am over 100 posts now I think. ;)

It's good that Piranha got a sizable payoff from this Founders. I hope it is enough to finish this game and polish it to be as good as it can possibly be. Don't let us down.

Hm... So, Hawkeye, I'm pondering (as usual I suppose).

I recently made a post in the First Founders Beta Invite announcement thread, doing some rough estimates of how many people are going to be left in the beta invite pool, since they're going to pick from the all of the Founders first.

Since they don't display Beta status in the forums, are there any data tags on accounts that show if someones in the beta? Perhaps a user group, that gives them permission to post in some sort of exclusive closed beta forum (No idea if that exists, but I wouldn't be surprised)? If so, then the chances of a founder getting into the beta can be calculated. Not sure if that would be something of interest or too much work, but I thought I'd toss the idea your way ;).

Anyhoo, enjoy your vacation!

Just an observation about one of the faction's statistics...
