Bah. Figures that I make an excuse to leave work early, only to come home and find that I won't even get to play until after when my normal shift ends anyway ¬_¬

Fail.

Man, that wallpaper is a real let down. In game shots?, I thought it might be drawn. The concept art is way better.

Totally agreed. Any player could have made those wallpapers.

Oh, and I couldn't care less about the concept art being signed. The art is really nice, and should have been the wallpaper. The signings just take away from the art.

Good thing I didn't make any purchase decisions based off this crap. I knew it would be crap though, it always is. Makes me wonder why companies bother.

Patch notes don't mention things like Streak damage going from 2.5 to 2.0, or the Gauss change to make it so you can charge only 2 at a time.

Did these changes make it in?

Gauss change was announced to be in. Streak damage change may have been a test.

I personally took the day off to play clans .. and this is how PGI repays me!!! ( FYI only reason why I took today off is because I had some teeth pulled last night lol)

Besides the time zones that everybody keeps mentioning there is also the whole fact that not everybody works a day shift. I'm sure some people in Europe have no problem with this patch because they might not even get home from work till 10pm their time.

In Europe most people are at home when the servers went down for maintenance. So around 6-7PM (GMT+1). So think the majority of Europe won't be able to play untill tomorrow.
Only people who work in shifts, they can arrive at home around 7AM, 3PM or 11PM (GMT+1)

Not to bicker, just to clarify

I don't see the Gauss changes in the patch notes?

You HAVE to have changes in the patch notes if they are being put in.

The time is probably because in NA they don't really know that the rest of the world exists?

But seriously , it is a badly thought out time to do these things, but I don't they really care as after all they already have your money!

Maybe if Europe had it's own servers it would get better service?

Guess it's Aurora time!

1PM Eastern DST yes.

10AM Pacific DST, which is where the company is.

Servers are in Toronto or CST.

listen this game is worldwide so dope it out.......SOMEONE in SOME timezone is gonna get screwed. period. deal with it. As well The company is north American BASED, so why shouldn't we get it first. Us canadians are so nice to everyone i feel like being the first canadian to say "P*** off" We got it first so go fly a kite and wait a WHOLE 4 EXTRA hours. jeesh. doesn't any of you have spouses or partners that could benefit from 4 hours of your time. Is the world gonna end cause "oh my! YOU didn't get it first!"

Seriously, people. They can't accommodate everyone's time zone, and you wouldn't be thrilled at the prospect of having to do it after hours or at 3 am, either. The developers are located in a NA time zone, so it stands to reason that would be the basis for their update schedule.

Get over it and just consider Wednesday your launch day if you have to. Criminy.

so... All the whiny players complaining that they didn't start the update at 0400 local time for the devs I have a question for you: How many Gold Clan packages have you ordered? How much are you paying for this game? Have you stumbled across some new proof that proves that the universe revolves around CET (or whatever time zone you're complaining about)? No? Then I bid you adieu.

No, it's comments like that that make us not care. You then went on to try and make it sound like you were joking, so I'll go ahead and say, "just kidding". That makes it all better, right?

I looked at the time charts.

When PGI patches, the Asians/Australians are asleep, the Americans are at work/school, and the English are just getting home from work. The Germans and Eastern Europeans have already been home and are just settling down for some perfect MWO time...but the servers are down until late.

On major content releases, they could come in earlier. This isn't such a novel concept, it's called customer service. If you were running a burger joint, you wouldn't close for lunch just so you could rest up for the dinner shift.

Also, the "someone will be screwed no matter what" argument is a foolish one. You look at the geolocations of your 3 major populations of paying players...and then you adjust to that. It's the same reason McDonald's doesn't hold out their breakfast menu for swing-shift security guards...they're such a tiny demographic that it isn't worth it.

Pissing off a tens of thousands of European customers over and over again...well, that's just bad business.

Once again, look at the time charts and tell me who exactly among the paying demographic is getting screwed at 7am PST.

The gauss thing was in an announcement. I trust it to be in. Much like clan weapons, there was no announcement, but I trust they're in.

So, I'm guessing the first hot fix we get comes tomorrow. Anyone want to take tonight?

Money spent <> Right to complain.

Also, again, they did list UTC, which is the same as GMT (well, not exactly, and technically it's been more correct since the '90s, though I'll admit to not knowing that)

Ah, didn't realize that. I thought they were west coast because the game clock says PGI is PDT, Pacific time?
