Thought this might be fun.

My first drop was in a Nova, I took out 4 lasers for 4 more heatsinks (still 8MLas...) otherwise it's a 3 shot overheat in average ambient temperatures.
Didn't take a screenshot, came out alive & dealing 586 dmg.

Then I dropped Summoner, then Dire Wolf -- no pics. 4xx dmg each drop.

Here's my first Timby drop!
2 Kill, 9 assist, 639 dmg, survived w/ yellow armor -- not a bad first drop.
Only minor modifications to the mech, removed MPLas, more LRM ammo.

What were your first Clan Mech drops like?
Did you take the mech straight to the garage and re-outfit or hit the battlefield immediately?

There are Inner Sphere mech pilots who are outright teamkilling clan mechs out of sheer spite and butthurt.

Not my first technically as that resulted in me DCing. But this is the "first" drop in which I actually got to play.

Timberwolf Prime with the stock loadout, no modifications. Sruvived with crtiical damage and all front torso armour stripped aswell as one of my legs.

I did awful in an Adder Prime all night until I couldn't take the server/database issues anymore. My best game was 1 kill 8 assists and 286 damage. I tried playing it more conservatively and long ranged, constantly relocating yet still close to the team.......had a hard time getting used to the arms, theyre like Cataphract arms. The Twin ER PPC build was too hot even on chain fire and I tried two ER LL with AMS and 1.5 tons ammo with 5 more heat sinks. That solved the heat problem but then it just didn't hit hard enough and the beam time will get you killed as you stare someone down for 1.5 seconds to do full damage. I tried my best to hit unaware opponents but it didn't always work out.

My first Warhawk battle....rollin the 4 C ER PPC/souped up DHS loadout from PTS.

Got the "Crap im gunna die" acheesement, got absolutely hammered, but lived.

Dealt 322dmg, I spent a fair bit of time wandering that damn Canyon Network trying to find a way up....I really dont like that map.

made 1152xp and 112K Cbills.<<30% cbill boost is nice. does the 30% stack with premium 50%?

I got 1 kill, who, idk, 4 assists.

Overall, I kinda wish I woulda done better, but still did ok.

I am thoroughly impressed by the survivability of the Warhawk, idk about the other clan mechs, but the Warhawk. It can absolutely be torn to shreds and unlike every single IS mech ive driven, doesnt die to the first stiff wind that blows through. IDK if this is due to vastly superior hitboxes or what, but dayum, its tough.

Unlike this morning, I took the Trial Highlander for a spin, it died in less then 30 seconds upon first contact. Does the default armor spread just blow on trials? I mean, they have near to max armor.

I'd hate to see this thread go the direction of PGI-bashing / complaining.

That said, it is unfortunate. I don't know why there is so much whining. The last 2 matches everyone commented on how balanced it all felt. Those dmg numbers are the average I've done since this game came out (I average 400-600 dmg in a 4 Mlas Jenner, or 600-800 in Jaggers).

The clan weapons seem to have a disadvantage for every "advantage" they have. i.e. longer cool-downs, longer duration on lasers. No doubt by specs alone they should be overpowered but the matches certainly don't feel that way.

Regardless of the above, it reminds me of the complaints like "you don't follow canon/lore enough". If MWO were to do so, I think the Clan mechs should obliterate IS mechs. I think MWO has done a good job of balancing the canon fact that the exiled have improved their tech, while not making it unbalanced for a video game's sake.

@LordKnightFandragon, I've heard the Warhawk can be hard to outfit -- as in, you have to make odd choices. I haven't taken it to the garage yet, but soon
Yes, premium time stacks on any mech bonuses AND first win of the day. I got 38xx XP in that Timberwolf match above. I've heard of people getting 10k XP in a single drop.

I played some ridiculously close games, and they all descended into brawls. I haven't had this much fun with the game in months.

There was a full Steiner lance that killed all of the friendly clan mechs.

This. First go was a meh 250 damage, but wow, was it a good change of pace. And I was playing in a 4 man with guys of higher Elo. Normally, I'd see a lot more poptarting.

first clan mech drop was in a war hawk for me, and I stripped the LRMs (I never did like missiles) and the currently useless targetting comp for heat sinks. Even on tormaline desert, I was disapating heat like crazy unless I got panicy and fired off rapid or full out salvos. Never once shut down due to heat, and although I did a meager 230 damage, I kiled 1 mech and cored 3 others. Very nice direct fire potential ^^

I'm with you 100%

After dying in a battle @ River City, I enjoyed spectating just watching the chaos of all the new colors of weapons fire, explosions, seeing Timber Wolves and Daishi fighting Atlases and Catapults.

Hectic, ferocious, and beautiful.

Still getting used to the battlemechs, but as it is I've been doing much better in my Protector more than anything tonight. Granted, it is my mech of choice.. But who knows. I've got a lot of tinkering to do with my Timberwolf, but I think I'll eventually enjoy it alot more once I get used to the weapon systems and how they work

Dire Wolf Gold and Prime.

4 x ER Large Lasers
2 x Ultra AC 10's

3 kills 8 assists first battle.. 500+ damage.. (in the 580's I believe).

All in all a good drop.

I played my summoner all night. Got my D up to elite and working on B now but using the same pod load out I had on my D. 2xCERLL 2xCERML 1xCLRM20/2.5t ammo 1xCMG/.5t ammo 2xAMS/1t ammo. My best game was a 3 kill 7 assist march at around 600 dmg. I've had better with other mechs but not bad at all for a first night.

The only drop I've done so far is into the training grounds, and in doing so my clan mechs ate 20 million of my hard earned c-bills.
