Also, just saw Sean Lang in a Stormcrow absolutely *wrecking face*.

Clan mechs OP. PGI knows it and exploits it for.... uh....

Yeah. See?

Joking aside, I think the SCR is the most under-rated mech out right now. Well played it's a stone cold killer and puts all other mediums to shame.

I can definitely see that, but then again, I feel the same way about the TBT chassis, it can do so well with the right pilot and set up.

I don't think that clans are SO-OP(!) but... just Inner Sphere need her tools back, such like:

- re-buff Gauss Rifle
- Binari Laser Cannon
- Bombast Laser

Binary Laser Cannon

Tons 9
Critical Slots 4
Heat 11-12
Damage 14

Bombast Laser(like GR you hold a button b4 you shoot)

Damage 10 - 13
Heat Various
Tons 7
Critical Slots 3

And those cookies IS need ASAP.

Wanna make the IS mechs OP? Remove the engine caps like in closed beta. Let IS mechs run the top full custom engines they can. (Would have to limit lights like the command as not to break the game) That would bring any and all clan set engine mechs to their knees!

Bring back the xl400 9 small laser hunchie 4P. I would run it again!

And I'm not talking about Heavy Gauss Rifle/HGR and Improved Heavy Gauss Rifle/IHGR, both with damages around 22 and 25, and range around 2000-2500 also.
It's same as ClanTech years 3061 and 3065, just like clans.

Guys! GUYS! CLANS ARE TOTALLY OP! LOOK AT MY DIREWOLF!

Posted Image

Edit: In case you missed what I am referring to, my Direwolf Got a Kill without even doing any Damage! That is how OP Clan mechs are.
And now, to be completely serious, you cannot, in all honesty, ever say a Direwhale is OP. It took the ENTIRE match for our Dires to even REACH the fight. These things make Oil Tankers look like Ballet Dancers. But, if we ever had Clan Trial Mechs, all you F2P whiners (I'm only talking about the whiners, I have no issue with F2P'ers in general) would realise that these things are NOT God like. They just take new tactics to defeat. My Std engine LaserBolt, for example, loves tango'ing with Whales. Easy kills.

Does it apply if I'm naming myself? I'll fix it if need be.
Fixed it, just in case.

Good to know. Well, it's fixed anyways. And I still think having Trial Prime Variants of the Clan Chassis is the best way to convince these people that only the Timberwolf is actually as scary as they think it is.

IMHO, clans are OP comparing to the IS, and it is right. They are much better than IS in the BT universe.

I think, it would not be untrue to say, that clans are p2w now. As for me, I'm doing much better in clan mechs. But eventually they will be available for cbills, so it's not forever. Let's admit horrible truth: PGI employees have to be paid, they don't work for free. So, it is soft, acceptable p2w.

Overall, I like balance, clans and how PGI made it.

Bombast laser is 3064 tech, we're still in 3049. Gonna be a while before it's introduced. Binary Laser on the other hand could be useful. Though an oversized LL (It's not ER cores, keep that in mind) might not be as well received. I think it would be though, and might find it's niche.

The lore should have little to do with balance. The clan mechs are actually balanced, and not OP. They are very different from inner sphere mechs, which is where the perceived OPness comes from.

See, this is the problem I'm having here. What makes you the authority and decider on this definition. I'm honestly trying to understand what you're saying, and I'm getting the gist of it. I still see it as flawed, I understand it, but I think it's flawed.

Is not my definition. It's the industry definition.
You can imagine that it means something else, but everyone else who talks about p2w, and it's merits or problems, is talking about paying for a competitive advantage. They aren't talking about literally paying for a guaranteed win.

you're ignoring every other opinion besides yours bud. There are many more than Iraqi that don't agree that clans are "op"

The discussion at this point with Iraqi isn't about the clans specifically, but rather simply what the term p2w means.

And it means paying for a competitive advantage.

I think the Binary Laser could be VERY well received. Especially if it has the same Ghost Heat restriction as a standard Large Laser. What's that? I can only fire TWO Large Lasers at the same time? Well, in that case, make mine a pair of BINARIES! (Quad LL ftw!)
And the reason I will always argue that Clan Mechs are NOT OP, is because I can kill them with an IS design. And I am not referring to a Poptart, or my PPC/AC5 Firebrand. I am talking about my tubby little 5 Mlaser, 2 Llaser T-Bolt, with his standard engine, who pops out from behind a rock at 270m, unloads, swings his Shield Arm up, and flanks, before the Dakka Wolf can finish unloading a full salvo. People seriously underestimate how much LONGER the Clan weapons have to fire to do concentrated damage. Yes, I will likely come out the other side missing more than half my mech, but I've just gone toe to toe with the biggest, nastiest thing in the arsenal, and survived. And, owning a Daishi, and having to try and follow anything moving more than 60kph, I can tell you now that this thing is sluggish.

The Stormcrow and Timberwolf are the only two Clan Mechs that scare me. The Crow, because of the ludicrous amount of ordnance it can pack on a 100kph frame (though, it always has a cost, either armour, ammo, or heat). And the T-wolf, because it is such a versatile and manoeuvrable chassis for it's weight class. That said, the T-wolf too, spends a large amount of it's tonnage on Engine. But yes, both of these mechs would be verging on Pay to Win, AT THIS TIME. And even then, only in the hands of a Skilled Pilot. I have seen many a T-wolf fall to poor piloting, when it should have survived much longer.
