If I were a dev I would reflexively trash bin any post that had OP or nerf in the title.

Aside from that, lrms seem to either hammer the crap out of you, your teammates, or your enemies. Or they are rendered useless from things such as a lack of team spotting/tagging/ narcing capabilities and certain maps with cover and concealing terrain.

Hmmm that sounds like a fairly situational and balanced application of lrm's to me.

Perhaps what people are complaining most about is when they get put in a map that is ripe for clear lrm flight with a team that lacks 1. LRMs 2. Spotters 3. Living spotters with advanced targeting tools TAG/NARC.

In that kind of situation yeah, they feel pretty damn op because your side either can't move or poke your heads up to do anything because you are so ill equipped to deal with what the enemy has. That would have nothing to do with the weapon system, it just proves more and more that you had better pull off some magic or get pounded into dust because your lack team components that the other side does have.

Being beaten by the right weapon for the job doesn't prove anything except that it works as intended.

LRMs are a mess because there are too many factors. Mostly because they added in ECM as a hardcounter and tried to balance around it.

They need a full rework, while making ECM do what it did in table top. And remove all the damn module counters/buffs.

Unless the matchmaker is going to take the time to match up every variable it's always going to cause issues.

If you land on caustic with no ECM, no AMS and the other team has NARC and LRMs you have problems.

If you land on River City, and you have 6 LRM mechs and they have 10 AMS and 3 ECM, you are probably going to get rolled.

It's stupid.

Making the best of a bad situation when you are 100% dead meat is very gratifying.

Not everyone can be John Rambo, and most teams discourage it.

You were contributing to the problem so there's nothing sad with it. The only thing sad is how you're mocking a poster because your opinions differ.

I've had my own team (PUG) laughing at me and saying they are glad the "No-skill boater hiding at the back all match" was getting killed.

I was the last on my team to die.
I spent the whole match direct-firing at around 300m.
I was in a stock CPLT-C1.

I said make the best of what you got, not pretend you are a fictitious character in a really bad movie!

This game doesn't reward making the best of what you've got, it rewards what you paid for in cash. The rest suffer greatly while playing catch-up.

I haven't paid a dime in well over a year, and I have had a pretty dam good run since.

I can respect that. It doesn't change the issue of advantages those that do pay get.
