Give me several smoke rounds and HUD disruption effects from PPCs. Couple those with ECM coverage and I'm good to go.

Better yet, remove the window dirt effects and cause those effects to be applied every time the head is struck.

To OP

1. Use AMS
2. Use AMS modules
3. Get Improved Gyro
4. Try to eq ECM
5. Get in range of Guardian ECM
6. Get Radar Deprivation
7. Next time if you comparing things use same envirnoment e. why only on first gif You're using Thermal Vision, also on first you are zoomed? So those gifs are biased.

There are many counters to LRM ffs, learn game than came to forum for QQ. If you want further nerf LRM's into oblivion - try harder.

In the second image he's in the open defending against a push. Only, he can't, because he's being stun locked by an auto-aim weapon.

Your suggestions would do nothing to help the situation.

Taking away player control is rarely a good thing and LRMs offer a permanent way to do so until death. It's not a good mechanic to have in the game.

It might help your case if you used equal comparisons. Or it might prove moot.

So you'll say it's the player's fault for getting caught in LRMs and that he deserve's screen shake but you'll wine and complain until the ACs get nerfed into the ground, AC/2 in particular cause you don't like getting killed by it or its screen shake. Talk about making a rule that applies to everything else except what you like.

Go ahead and drop down impulse on LRMs and for crying out loud reduce explosions too and remove explosions for ACs, they're friggin solid slugs not HE rounds used by Shermans from WWII.

If you look at his hud that's exactly what he was doing.

Didn't help.

It is most likely the same crowd who had cried for AC2 nerfs that are crying now for LRM nerf, given the issue is the shake. Guys like me who are fine with the current LRM impulse actually WANTS the Dakka Jager back.
Ping me baby, one more time!

Nope. At least 3 enemies had him in clear sight and corner was no where to be seen. Why was he not torso twisting like any decent player I do not know.

On the second image he's running straight into the Kappa Cap point (it's conquest) with 1st enemy ahead a 2nd enemy at his 10 and a third with several Lrm at kappa (straight info from starting time)

On his minimap ONLY 1 teammate it's somewhere closer to help him ( the one as his 7 ) yet the 1st thing he does it's turn around and run leaving the OP alone.

the other 2 closer friends are either looking in the opposite direction (the one who is above the canyon) or under the canyon.

So in the end, the Op was focused by at least 3 targets with LRm ballistic and Energy for heading into open area with no one really backing him.

No he's not. Look at his arrow. He was attempting to retreat during that.

What probably happened was that there was the normal corner fight taking place with Jun at the front, and eventually the enemy team pushed over.

In any case this doesn't really matter. It's that he was effectively unable to fight back during that engagement due to the explosions and cockpit shake. He wasn't extremely out of position or anything, just in a situation where the enemy team pushed which happens to everyone. That kind of 'mistake' doesn't warrant having your mech perma-stunned from one LRM boat.

I forgot, the instant you step behind cover you should expect all missiles in the air to vanish.

Also, there is nothing you can do to avoid getting tickled to death. No modules or equipment or anything you can make use of.

Also, the fact that, had the enemies been firing PPCS and/or gauss, a lot more unavoidable damage would have been done in much less time is irrelevant.

Please actually look at the hud. Note the accelerator, his mech orientation, the position of his teammates, the location on the map, and his movement.

As for torso twisting, yep that was bad. Doesn't really mean anything in the scope of the discussion though.

I never said it should. You were the one who asked why he wasn't trying to retreat...

The point isn't about the damage. He should get hurt/killed there. He had three mechs focusing fire on him. The problem is with that he can't fight back due to the ridiculous amount of cockpit shake and visual distraction from a single LRM boat.

I cross-posted the Smurfy data on missile impulse to the Karl Berg thread to see if we can get an answer, since it looks like they didn't clean up the #s before the patch.

Then why do they have more impulse (cockpit shake) than AC20s, in addition to the giant balls of fires obscuring your cockpit?

IS LRMs :

Clan LRMs :

I think PGI gave clan LRMs extra large explosion effects....

You haven't seen the earthquake simulator.

I'm not going to argue about the *permastun* i just pointed Jun was caught by 3x single mech we can quickly notice in the image (2x with Seismic and the 3rd who is the Lurm boat as the missiles can be seen coming from kappa)

That's 3x mechs one LRM boat 1x Ballistic Timberwolf and the third who is the target with 1x Gauss and ER-ppc (the one at his left)

We can't consider if there is a 2nd or 3rd Lrm boat (adding more shake time) or how the fight ended due Gif not showing how long it took to die.

Right.

LRM's can't have viability at close range (or extreme ranges, although that has been somewhat mitigated by the recent buff to their speed), pinpoint damage, quick firing (depending on the IS mech/launcher, and for all clan mechs), the ability to go without lots and lots of deadly explosive ammo, or the ability fo be taken along, knowing that you can actually use your weapons (see: all the counters to them)... heaven forbid they have anything, ANYTHING, of use.

And btw, what I actually said was

"Or... the person could back up around a corner and survive with only a light dusting."

And if there was only the one guy firing at him, that's exactly what would happen. If on the other hand, he had three firing at him, two with LOS and firing direct fire weapons....

Wait... look at those again. in what way is he backing up around a corner? I see him moving more or less straight back. There is no corner he is going around.

He got caught flat footed. It happens, and yes it is unpleasant.

---

If the "problem" is that he could not calmly turn to one of his enemies and fire at them with the same precision as if he had all the time in the world on a brisk summers day... ... I don't know what to tell you. The concept of "you are being shot at, therefore you are less accurate with your return fire" is not a new one, nor is the concept of object permanence (the idea that even if you do not have an object in your immediate sight, you know it still exists.... and... you know... you can sort of make an inference that your target might be somewhere in the vicinity of where it was a split second ago, fire there, and check for red crosshairs).

Thats what I always thought. Wasnt real brainy move in the first place. But, I mean...Honor, dont retreat, dont quit till its over.....the fat lady aint singing yet...all that other bullcrap people pull to try and excuse and make fighting hopeless numbers seem like a good idea. Then we have KDR padder and all that...

And his mech musta been one of those LRM boats cuz he stipped all his armor off for a few small pulse lasers and alot of LRMs...he got his leg shot out in 1 blast lol. Atleast he killed the Nova Cat's arm...haha
