Even with my clan Novas and T-wolves... My favorite to run is still my Phoenix Shadowhawk.

Runners-up include other s'hawks, cicadas, blackjacks, Ilya, and that Nova-Prime.

I still hold hope for my Dragons....

Even now, a year after I got the thing I still run it. After you are done LRMing them you can stroll in with Dual MGs and watch people flea. I am still surprised at how many kills I get with the ML and MG's. Then the lights, for some reason most light pilots hear MG's and run. Add to the issue with LRMs focusing on CT's the MG can be very dangerous. I even get to lead charges after the LRMs are gone. It is like an old glove, it just fits right. Now the Battlemasters are still a close second for me. In a month or two, we will see with the clan mechs. I am still working with them.

One ML

Not to be confused as "what mechs are "best", as one can enjoy mechs that are not "Meta-approved".

For me, I have found things changing. For instance, I used to LOVE the Victor. The ground agility nerfs leave me hating to even touch it.

So ATM, mine is hands down the Griffin. Does not have quite as good of hard points as the Shadowhawk, or hitboxes, but is close. But it's agility? Off the charts, 130º twist before you unlock it, great arm reflex and 7 JJ. And the FoV? Yeah, pretty much tops. It's a flanker's dream, and can carry a great blend of energy and missiles.

When they first came out, I preferred the balanced hardpoints of the GRF-3M, but have become a died in the wool fan of the classic, GRF-1N, so much that I own 2. One optimized for my playstyle ( il Fianchetto ) and one that I run for Stock Mech matches (also use my GRF-1S for that a fair bit). I don't have the best average damage of my mechs with it, only hovering about 350 avg match damage. But I am running a 3.4 W/L and 3.6 KDr with it. The W/L in particular means a lot to me.

And.....it is simply bloody gorgeous to my mind, with a WWII Bomber aesthetic and simplicity. Please PGI, don't screw up the Hero version!!!!!!

So what is your "mech of choice"?

(Honorable mentions to the ON1-VA and yes, Summoner-Prime. Not because the Summoner is amazing. It has just always been my favorite clan mech)

We must be of the same mold, I too love the Summoners and Griffins. I'd love to have an energy point intensive Summoner with more Torso slots, but such is life. I also greatly enjoy the Stalker.

Tho hands down, favorite is Summoner or Griffin. I can't really decide because they do the same stuff and both have great aesthetics.

CPLT-C1: XL300, 2xLRM15+A, 3xML, TAG, 4xJJ. I just finished mastering that and had a blast doing it.

JM6-FB: 2xPPC, 2xAC5. Man that thing is a hit and run beast for me.

WVR-6R: AC10, ML, 3xSSRM2, XL 300, 4xJJ, BAP. Its surpassingly durable and good at chasing lights away, especially if you equip a LBX instead and more ammo. But, the AC10 is good for general purpose if you stick with the main blob of your team, the LBX has to wait for opened armor sections to be effective.

I love hunchbacks! -- HBK-4G (BFG build), HBK-4P (champion), HBK-4SP (2xSRM6, 4xML, STD 260), HBK-4J (2xLRM10+A, 4xML, TAG - not the norm but I have fun and do well in that build)

Previously, I enjoyed playing Hunchbacks. Waiting for the Clan 'mechs to arrive, I was excited to pilot the Summoner (just a sharp looking design IMO). However, I have learned that I am absolutely horrible piloting one. I die, without being effective, every time. It just feels.. different.

Therefore, I gave the Stormcrow a shot and have not looked back since. Quick (for its size), agile, packs a decent punch and survivable if played smartly (something I manage to do every five matches or so). When everything clicks into place on my end, it simply performs superbly.

Enjoying my Griffins currently, and the trusty old CN9-A.

Funnily enough, I've enjoyed them more since I went back to more "stock-like" loadouts; e.g. ERPPC+ALRM15 on the GRF-1N and AC/10 + ALRM10 on the Cent.

One of my Wolverines have taken over the 3xASRM-6 build the CN9-A used to have; that one's pretty enjoyable as well.

Always was and always will be the Hunchback. My 4G has been having some trouble adapting to the Clan meta a bit, but that's why I love them. Having trouble with the 4G? Try a 4P or a 4H. Sick of getting that hunch shot off? Try a laser boat hunchless 4J or a 4SP. With the addition of the Grid Iron I also have a Hero version of my 4G now as well, which has been useful for grinding out CBills for the eventual CBill release of the Clan mechs. In the mean time though, I'll just be chilling over here in my Hunchbacks...

Oh, and honorable mention to BJ-1X and Wolverine 6K I think it is? The one with 4 laser hardpoints in the right arm. Both of those I've been running as near max engine faster strikers using Medium Pulse Lasers. Even before the buff they were fun, but post buff they're even better. I just love the sound of the wub-wub I guess...

Cicada

I love the lil ******. It will never be as good as the Jenner/Firestarter thanks to PGI's inability to balance mechs with and without JJs. And, its nose is a bit bigger than I'd like. But, dammit, it is a fun lil thing to cruise around in and the variants all offer lots of different possibilities.

It is my Atlas-D-DC. She saw me through months of 6-9 hour nights, and I sold her so I could buy a Battlemaster (not a good trade). So the 1/2 off sale last weekend coupled with the 24 hours of free Premium time, got me and my baby together again!

My favorite IS mech has been the Protector since it was released, 2LL and 2UAC5 with a standard 300 engine, it can really take a beasting while dishing out the damage. Clan wise I've loved the Warhawk ever since the mech pack for MW4 and a nice round build of UAC20,2LL,2ML and LRM15 really works well for me.

My favourite mech is my Protector also. I used to run mine wit 2LL and 2 AC5's on chain fire, was an absolute beast. After the AC nerf i found it less effective and rebuilt my Protector.

It now runs 2MPL an AC20 and an ERPPC and its even more fun than my dual AC5 build and still an absolute beast. Ive tried most mech and weight classes available, but nothing feels quite as good as the Orion to me.

The Dragon fast as a clan light with a hunchback's firepower and a heavies armor. Throw a 360 XL in there and run around at 107KPH like a boss! If they had jump jets I'd never pilot anything else.

I also love all of the hunchies though these days the 4H I love like that one family member who just won't quit getting arrested for dumb crap.
