I want the voice of Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
" yeah your reactor, that's online"

"that last hit, yeah, that was kind of critical. Remember that AC-10 you USED to have... yeah, that's destroyed"

lol. Maybe we just need an easy way to mod the voice. There will be so many epic voice mods if that happens.

Samuel Jackson (yelling): Your mother******* reactor is mother******* online, mother******!

Or Yoda: Online, your reactor is. Nominal, all systems are. Destroyed, your AC/20 has been.

A google later...

Betty from MechWarrior 2 is Carole Ruggier, who has apparently done many video game voices.
Check out her page at IMDb: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0749442/

Here is a games-related interview with her:
http://thegaminglibe...carole-ruggier/

Quote

Retroplayer- Your first venture into the gaming world was in the 1995 video game Mechwarrior 2 as the narrator. What was your first impression of the videogame voice acting world?

Carole- Getting that job was a happy accident. I knew nothing about the game and I just was recording my lines by myself in the booth. I didn’t know anyone else in the cast and probably only saw images after the fact. I’d had a little experience in a recording booth but more singing than v.o. I remember, long lists of cues and being extremely focussed on maintaining tone and rhythm as, Bitchin’ Betty, was a computer. I was also doing an American dialect. I had a blast!
(emphasis mine)

I for one would love to see PGI cast her. Maybe NGNG want to invite her, too, like they did George Ledoux. :)

I'm kinda down for the voice of Jack from ME2

"Hey... ****'s online and ready to rock. Now let's blow some mother****ers to pieces."

Oh man, I get chills when I hear that voice. Fond, fond memories of 2 player LAN (over serial cable in those days, maybe?) games were we'd all take turns hunting each other.

well, we've been mostly saying that we want a female voice. i suppose hers would work, but i didn't want a little girls voice.

Helen Mirren has a cool voice.

Johnny Depp as Cpt. Jack Sparrow would be funny too.

Helen Mirren could work, but since a poster above found out who did MW2 that might be the best way to go for default, the voice files should be stored localy though when all is said and done so we can make our own.

Jennifer Hale (Female Commander Shepard from Mass Effect) would be my vote.

Or just expose the sound files to use so we can record our own. That would work too.

Yeah, store the sound files as mp3, for example. Preferably with an option to use user-made files, stored in the user area on windows 7 and vista.

The user-made files would have to be precluded from any punkbuster or similar anti-cheat systems though (and we're going to see some morons trying to cheat, I'm sure of it). ;)

I rather hope they changed the "all systems online" to "all systems nominal"...

I agree 100%.

"All system nominal" is just...well....MECHWARRIOR.

It needs to be in the game.

That female voice from Crysis -- "Cloak Engaged" still gets me in the mood to hunt the most dangerous game of all.

There can be only one choice: Samuel L. Jackson.

Unless he has scheduling conflicts, in which case American comedian Lewis Black.

Thank you.

actually, she was the one doing the narration for the cutscenes. the actual cockpit voices for the noted effects were speech synth, buried in the executable. technically one could reverse engineer it out and rig it up as a speech synth model for any text to speech system to use.
