That's why I went a little "La Malinche" with mine, and went less hardpoints. Figure the strength of the chassis is the hitboxes. And like the Banshee, once you improve the agility, it's pretty amazing how tough it becomes (La Malinche's firepower may be limited, but it might be the toughest frikking mech I own!)

So I figure play to it's strengths as a relatively agile, super tough brawler. Sure, some yutz will want to slap dual ac20 onto my version (should it somehow see the light of day... doubtful), but that is going to be slow compared to existing boom designs, so let them.

An update to Hanse Davion's personal Battlemaster.
What makes it stand out, beyond the obvious Ballistic torsos and CT Large Laser, is it's added agility. Hanse Davion preferred to lead from the front in combat, and his defense of the NAIS showed he has no fear of mixing it up.

By swapping to new LB-10X ACs in the Starbird's torsos, he maintained the same long range reach of his traditional BLR-1G, while potentially doubling it's long range firepower. By being high mounted in the side torsos, they also allow for steady defilade fire. Switching the medium lasers to the arms give him greater reflex and ability to deal with fast moving threats, something the cluster rounds of the LB-X also work well against. The CT mounted large laser gives some more mid to long range reach, as well as being unexpected by most people battling a BLR, while lastly, the dual AMS system and slightly increased speed and agility help keep the First Prince out of trouble.

It's actually 14 (the 3M dropped 1MG and the Rogers drops the other and the SRM6), lol. And you can't really effectively use all 14 harpoints.

I was counting the 7 SSRMs plus 8 energy hardpoints (3 RT/3 LT/ 2 RA).

I don't see the added energy in the arm unless it's in the spec sheets I am missing. It's the 1G minus both MGs and the SRM6 but add in the 7 SSRM2s so that would be the ER PPC (from the 3M) and 6 medium lasers for 14.

You are correct. I am sure 14 hardpoints would be considered sooooo much more balanced than 15. It might be enough of a difference to allow them to let it handle like a Stalker, instead of nerfing it's mobility all the way to full on Direwhale!

Heh, well, 7E and 7M are too many to use effectively anyways. Even if you put in Streaks + ML, that's 17.5 tons without ammo and hot as heck (of course people will make it a 7x LRM5 lol).

The Battlemaster chassis already has covered "ballistics + energy" and "missiles + energy" loadouts so I made one that is more like "ballistics + missiles" style that is missing not only from the BLR chassis but also in IS mechs in general. It has no AMS hardpoint and only 9 weapon hardpoints (BLR-3M has 10 weapon hardpoints and AMS) so it should be balanced and kind of an alternative for the BLR-1D. Also I think minimum of 2 energy hardpoints in the both sidetorsos just like every other BLR should be kept in the Hero version too.

The inspiration for the paintwork should come from Hard Rock/Heavy Metal but I let the PGI have that. Just think of Lemmy and it will come.

I like it, though IDK if I would say it has "ballistics" down, overall, as they are all in one arm on every version, thus severely limiting utility and variety.

I do like the premise though, but would probably go about it in a slightly different manner, and torso launchers on the BLR for some reason seem to always have to translate into that huge honking box.

It is not limiting utility. It is way of saying "do not show them your whole mech while shooting, only left arm".
