I've been playing this game since nearly the start of open beta. I've invested money into it and I'm a fan of Battletech and the old Mechwarrior games. Great fun.

But I've had enough of this, for now, until some major issues get fixed. It's a consensus with my two brothers and 3 other friends whom I regularly play with. As a group, sure, we can play fine, strategically, and take down the enemies... but it's not nearly as fun.

You know those games that have computer AI characters in them which are basically there to be killed? It feels like I'm controlling one of those. Sure, you get to play and do stuff, but you're really just there to give the other players a target to kill.

No thanks!

I love the game and I've put money into it so I'll be checking back to see when it's playable - but right now it's not.

I bought a Pheonix Package - and after this "Clan Invasion", I feel completely robbed. Inner Sphere mechs can't take on a Clan mech one-on-one and I can't GET a clan mech without spending money - and ALLLLL the 20+ mechs I now have are MOSTLY crap compared to the ones that just came out. Even my Boars Head doesn't stand a chance, especially. No ECM and a HUGE target walking around for the super powerful clan mech weapons to target.

The purpose of this discussion - and my question - is this:

Are you planning to take a break from this game?

I'm curious as to who feels the same as we do. I want PGI to take notice and fix this so I can enjoy playing again - not just the people who most recently spent money!

BTW - if you bought the clan mechs and want to speak your opinion - yeah, don't bother. Your purchase pretty much disqualifies you from being relevant on this topic.

That's funny, my IS mechs seem to be doing quite well. Perhaps you should consider a change of play style.

Sounds like you are having the problem with the Clans I want. I want them to be a female dog to beat. I wanna be scared when I see Timber Wolves. I wanna have the Clan Invasion like it was meant to be! Right now I am disappointed with the Clans.

You admit you dont' have a clan mech so you disqualified yourself from having any opinion, based on evidence, to make any conclusion whatsoever.

Talk about irony - you're a non-relevance.

Bias much? My Sphereoid 'Mechs are doing great against the Clanners. In fact, thats the only way I GET to play any of the Clan 'Mechs I bought (Lil own "salvage" rule...)

Odd. I have a much higher WL and KDr on my IS account since Clan INvasion (and rising) while my master Clan MEchs still lag far behind.... and I even play those in teams, whereas I almost always PUG this account.

Lol, methinks people doth protest too much. (And too often it smells of butthurt entitlement....I DESERVE TO HAVE EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW!!!!!!)

Not saying that is your reason for being unhappy, but with many posts on here that is what it smells suspiciously like.

Be ready for dozens of posts from people who are invested in their Clan mechs to claim they're not "OP".

But yes, I'm already playing less than I was a week ago. I'm still doing fine, but most IS mechs are definitely now the "back up b!tches" of the battlefield. Ton for ton, an IS mech really can't win against a Clan mech. That said, there are so many terrible clan pilots right now that I can still kill people just fine. However, when you do go up against non-tards, it is extremely difficult to win against Clan tech with IS.

Oh, the irony indeed.

You paid money for a product and you're supposed to have an unbiased opinion on the matter? I doubt it. A non-purchaser has the same level of disconnect as you people who shelled out actual cash for these "exclusive" mechs. To claim you are more rational about this perceived imbalance is laughable.

Though i'm one of the guys that bought the warhawk pack, I do get where your coming from not having access to the clans yet but I find my IS mechs are standing well against the clans. i mostly run clan mech now but when i feel the need for a little IS love, they hold well with a change of tactic and good maneuvers.
Try a change of tactics and you may experience a new love for the game.

Not all of us have clan mechs and yet we still don't share your doom and gloom assessment of their capabilities..........

TL:DR
Clan mechs are NOT OP, not a single one of them is.........if you maintain situational awareness then shouldn't have any issues at all when fighting them.

As the Jarhead above said earlier..........Clan Mechs should be MORE powerful than they are now.

Ok, in simple terms - he doesn't have a clan mech, he doesn't have a leg to stand on to say whether they're more powerful or not.

There's irony in the OP... just think about it.

Thats kinda like saying if you haven't launched a Nuke you don't know they are powerful... B)

If you played this game long enough, you can form an opinion on the new hotness. :)

Why are people quitting now? SRMs have made brawling fun again plus LRM spam is much, much more survivable.

I am scratching my head why anyone would quit now as opposed to any time the first half of this year.

If you are frustrated it is definitely a good idea to take a break. I have returned after about 6 months off and the game is fun again. I was really irritated around November and just said f'it, I'll come back when srms are fixed. Well I'm back.

I am IS only. I may buy a clan mech for cbills as 'salvage' but that's it. I have been running lights and mediums since the patch and it is BRUTAL out there. I am starting to have success with my lights and it is gratifying to kill all those test tube babies.

But a break IS a good idea. Time off, reset, refit and see how the game is in a month or 2. It helps, let me tell you.
