Actually that sounds like a good idea, since CW is supposed to come with bad things like limited availability of equipment (based on whether your faction owns a given world or not) which would allow those who already own fully kitted out poptarts to have EVEN MORE of an advantage over newbies.

I'm pretty sure Community Warfare will be in a secondary "instance" that is tracked seperately, This would allow a full reworking of the Economy, Repair/Rearm, and various other things that should be included in a persistant war environment, that would not impact the "base" level of the game of just hopping in and playing. It would allow people who care to go in, and fight it out over resources and important things, while the average player could play MWO Arcade mode as we have it now.

Essentially how I'd do this is you have the game as we have it now, with all gamemodes and whatnot, where everyone can play with their toys. Then you have the "War" mode, which is tracked seperately.

All people who have bought mech packages start with these mechs, and all gear that comes with said mechs in their base loadout.

All players start with 1,500,000 C-bills as a basic starting point. They are then able to choose their faction. Those who choose clan have a different "Honor" resource over the inner sphere's C-bill system.

You then progress from here... note this is just a very, very basic example of how I'd want it handled. As it allows us to just play games to play games, AND have a greater, deeper metagame in the war mode.

Can Crytek even do these things?

Maybe they could switch to Frostbite.

It can do trees and vehicles pretty easily. The building destruction was basically done with glued together props that broke apart according to the physics engine. It was awesome and great when it was new, but has shown it's limitation in recent years. I personally though the Red Faction: Guerrilla was the best for building destruction.
