The Founders stuff ALONE makes your argument invalid.
I have a hard time saving up for a single mech, despite maybe getting 5-10 hours. I just FINALLY bit off the bullet to buy the Advanced Targeting Retention module, or whatever it is called. And weeped, because it means I'm probably going to spend a MONTH just to afford the first Clan mech I'll get with C-Bills, or whatever new IS Mech comes out if it is one I'm interested in (Black Knight lands? IT WILL BE MINE!!!). That 6 Million took me much of a month of my free time playing just to afford.
I've -never- had more than 12 Million or so. EVER. And that was when I was most active. Sadly most of that went just to upgrading Phoenix Mechs.
No, this game is a bloody grind to play. It takes forever to get just one mech. I dread the grind to afford a set of 3.
If you play 5 hours per week earning approx 75-120k per match (lets say 75k low side), 5 matches per hour, that is 375k per hour or 1.875 Mill c-bills per week, so yes it will take you 1 month to earn enough c-bills for a 6 million c-bill module. You really cant expect to keep up with someone playing 10-20 hours per week, not to mention those that play much more. It has nothging to do with founders, especially since he says he hasnt used it. Yes, it is there for the future when he wants to use it, but it says nothing about what he currently has.
I am a Phoenix Overlord like you, that is the only package i have bought besides some spare MC for mechbays. I own no hero mechs and i have not used my Phoenix premium time or any other premium time (except the 1 free day that was given away recently) and I currently have 19 mechs fully tweaked out (not counting those i built, master and sold) and 72 mill c-bills in the bank waiting for clan mechs. I also own maybe 6-7 modules and buy air strikes and arty as i feel like it. I play 3 hours per day, 5 days a week (so roughly 15 hours per week). There are many weeks, that i dont even get to play at all due to family obligations, so that lowers my weekly average a little. I typically earn about 100-110k c-bills per match (according to my game stats anyway).
I was in the same boat as you for a long time, never feeling like i had any money. All my money was going to new mechs and modules, but i decided to stop buying mechs temporarily and started saving up money. I started using my phoenix variants more for the bonus and 4 months later, i have 72 mill....
Keep plugging away, you will get there.
