Well, they could give us the Clans in 3052 (..2014/15?) , just in time for the invasion Wave 5..

Or they could reboot the timeline once they cleanup the big mess on their hands (features being 6-9 months behind schedule - and pushing everything else they have planned even further behind schedule), and aren't running around trying to get the basic game done by launch.

I'm guessing they were just juggling too much with a 1:1 timeline to adhere to. I rather they do as they do now and focus on getting the game done right and return to fix the timeline post launch.

Even announcing a "Time-Line" was a mistake from the very beginning, and I have been saying that since day one.
But guess what happened ;) ..??? Yep they dropped the "Time-Line", they had to abandon it because they have not been able to keep up with a "TIME-Line" that they (the Devs) had set for themselves, and pushed onto the MWO player base.

The development of MWO couldn't keep pace with their <--- "Time-Line" so the DEVs dumped it like a hot potato.

As soon as any situtaion/content does not suit the DEVs or the publisher in terms of development issues or revenue, you can expect much more of the same..

2+2=4 ... and no 2+2 does not equal popcorn.. If you couldn't see this issue with "Time-Line versus Development" from the very beginning as a possible, wait NO, a "PROBABLE" future issue, then I don't what to say to you all other than..

"I TOLD YA SO" ;) .. Yep

They already said in an interview with NGNG that they will probably roll back the timeline again, so all that was for fancy fluff... which I am sure will come back around again. With luck in larger than twitter sized snippets.

I think that until the timeline can actually serve a purpose, they should probably just dump it.

This
and the funny part about the time line - is the year pf peace. With luck CW and Clans are ready when the Clans renew their invasion in the end of 3051 (2014)

They shouldn't do it. Wave 5 or after the Battle of Tukayyid would be the perfect start for the Clans. No set battles, but actual borders to fight over.

Dunno how many people would like to play a set battle. I for myself wouldn't.

And i respect your opinion, but i am sure someone would love the idea of a great event like "24H Battle of Tukayyid", where you can win bonus XP, CBills and Honor by just partecipating. Oh, ehm, ComStar is not a playable faction. By the way, Clan Jade Falcon players would have much fun in a battle for Twycross, quineg? :P Mmh, then.. Nova Cats and Smoke Jaguars vs Draconis Combine on Luthien! Oh, who knows if they will introduce the reserve Clans.. ;)

Didn't mater if com star didn't give up Terra. The main goal for the clans was to decide who the ilClan would be. As it was clans were luck to loose because clan wolf would have been the big winner, that say only 2 wins, 1 draw for the clans com star just kicked ***.

*1 win, 2 draws

Agreed. Until such time a Clansman sets foot upon the soil of Terra, the ilKhan is the War Chef of the Clans, after a Clansman sets foot upon the soil of Terra, that Clan becomes the ilClan, the Khan of that Clan becomes the ilKhan. Even if there is currently a ilKhan already established, he would loose the status, unless he was already of the Clan that set foot upon Terra first.

The Clans are not separate entities, at least this is not the over all philosophy. The Clans are a whole, which each 'Clan' (Ghost Bear, Wolf, Coyote, Smoke Jaguar, Jade Falcon) being a military touman of The Clans. one of the reasons the lower castes of The Clans do not rebel, is due to the fact they are The Clans, be their Warrior Caste Ghost Bear, Wolf, Jade Falcon, etc.

So when a Clan lands on Terra, the goal of the children of Kerensky is complete. They have reached Terra, it is now time for The Clans to absorb their Toumans in to the new Star League Defense Force. Each Touman would effectively be a Corps of the new SLDF

No no no, friend.

the Clans are very much separate. Almost as separate as the Successor States; the only reason the Clan homeworlds were not embroiled in constant civil war was because the system of zellbrigen essentially prevents them from engaging in any actual warfare.

Of course we also have to remember that by 3050 none of the Clans were the same as they had been at their founding, and the objective of reforming the Star League was long lost. By the time of Operation Revival, it's obvious the Crusader Clans were just using it as justification for an invasion. I doubt any of the Clans would have actually recreated the Star League in any recognizable form.

Actually I could think of special "historic weekends" where we players are dropping as the respective factions for the battles (and maybe earn more LP by doing so?).

It would not feel the same if for a "Battle of Tukayyid week-end" you get bonuses by fighting battles in FC planets, for example. No, we need the planets were the major battles were set! I would love dedicated maps for a couple of these planets..

It would be nice as 'recreation' events, even let the IS house players in as 'stand-in' Com Guard. But those maps shouldn't be up all the time, saved for special events to make playing them more enjoyable when they do come up.

If they are special events they are supposed to be started on special occasions :D
