So you want to philosophize on facts and opinions?

One thing I have learned in my years. No amount of facts can force an opinion to change.

thats just your opinion lol

I guess that is perception but is it truth? I guess I should have used the word Truth vs opinion, or Reality vs opinion. I did say that opinions can be true and they can be false.

Fact is something that occurred. A fact can be "It is his opinion that CW will be lackluster. It is a fact that he said it and it is true that he said it. hmmm, new angles.

However is it Valid? or what is that statements Validity? It is a Fact that I called it stupid but is it a valid statement?

Uhhh now we're on to something: The idea of truth has a religious tone. There is no objective truth nor can a fact claim to be free of cultural angles. WWII did happen... Fact... To most western countries, but to russians it was the Great Motherland War. It did occur but the triggers and viewpoints are different. So truth or fact has angles to it that you can discuss.

were you the one that posted the 2012 statements? otherwise the old and outdated statements and in 2012 there were multiple statements that had the same date?

Did you call me slow?

also you took the time to write all that but can not give me simple links.

No I called you obtuse because that is what you are , and because it seems at times simple reading compression fails you I will post the link to what I wrote up.

All of those info I posted came from 2013.

You want to know why people jump all over you at times, this is a perfect example.

Edit - P.S. BTW Just because statements setting dates for CW release are from 2012 and outdated as you said does not make those statements any less of a fact and the dates given in them.

Edit - P.S.S.

I am sure you are going to give me an excuse.

If you really want to have a discussion about stuff with out it resolving into some kind of internet e-peen contest statements like above need to stop, you are basically saying that no matter what I post in response you will see it as an excuse weather or not that is the case.

Fact or Opinion, I'm currious to know the Point in this thread.

Part of me wonders if Vroomfondle and Magicthighs will stomp in and demand Deapthought be turned off

We want facts

no no that exactly what we don't want

We may..Or may not want facts, that is a certainty, I may or may not be Vroomfondle

"All affirmations are true in some sense, false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true and false and meaningless in some sense." - SRI SYADASTI

The above quote is a fact in some sense, an opinion in some sense and meaningless in some sense.

Interesting, you tell me. Fact is something that actually happened. If your opinion is based on fact then you are making opinions that are well-founded and informed. lets say Informed opinions on what actually is rather than what you think it is.

Fact: This thread is dumb.

What does this thread have to do with mwo?
Gameplay?
Feedback?
Features?

Fact = this thread should be in the off topic section.
Fact= this thread has no point regarding the game
Opinion = this thread wasa good idea

It's just the op continuing an argument from a different thread because apparently that one wasn't awesome enough to contain the awesomeness of this definition.

Oddly enough the op is one of the first ones to jump in other threads with stuff like "this thread shouldn't exist"

That is why this thread is In GENERAL discussions.

When did I ever say my opinions are more correct than anyone else" Can someone quote me on that?

And do you Mind, I Said I wont argue against anyone's opinion and I did not. I did not state whether anyone was right or wrong. I said this was an enlightenment thread and I still maintain that. If you have something against me Sanpit be a man and speak with me privately and in(semi Person). I am getting tired of you feeling As if I wounded you in some way. Same goes for the sand posse who always seem be like minded in everything they do or say

Both you and Blue star have made false assumptions and probably did not bother to even read what I said through the thread. I may have stated otherwise or with what I found but I never argued against.

Please, take your grudge somewhere else or speech with me In person what it is that I did to you. I already told you before, Do not take it personally if i argue against you because I only say things in an Objective sense so if you feel some type of way, that is on you. Same for you Blue star. know if you wish to speak your mind about the topic that is fine. I have said it before and will say it again.

I am not forcing anyone to post anything, but If you feel the need let me know what you come up with.

Sorry everyone, I made a big mistake, the title was supposed to truth vs Opinion. Facts are things that actually have happened.

Noesis, thank you for that.

I am gonna be in thought about this one for a couple of days. So far what I have come up with is that knowledge is only a small part of the world. Not everything is subtitle to thought but instead some things are driven by feelings or emotion. hmmm I don't think i am quite right.

I love how you dug back through the posts, found your post with the links included, RE-posted, and yet Blood Wolf chooses to ignore that you fulfilled his request, let alone answer to those "promises" in those dates...AGAIN.

Blood Wolf = Schooled!! Of course, that's just my opinion, and not necessarily a fact, or truth.

You can perceive reality as a collection of your own empirical observations and what those represent. But it is not the sum of all reality, nor is it the sum of all your experience or relationship with the subject material as you say.

In this sense, someone else may be only experiencing or have experienced one extreme or exception of your own found evidence. Also remembering that errors can occur in some case based on interpretation or it may be disguised due to a lack of precision or skewed in context due to other unrecognised factors or due to the translation we placed on the evidence provided. But the experience and association of value or relevance here can then be diminished and perceived as different due how it has been "judged".

This then why judgement is usually the result of taking in all known or presented observations and "forming" an opinion which then also includes its relevance, value and association to yourself and combining it with other existing "truths" you may have already formulated. The key word there being "forming" as it is still a construct of our truth as best we understand it and still not absolute truth. Hence I guess the term "forming an opinion".

Rational inquiry however is still important to debate and the use of objectivity (factual content) then able to distinquish or remove either the impossible or the absurd, but the "judgement" or conclusions we make are based on how we "best" understand things and their relevance to us and what we already value or believe, but it may not be the absolute truth.

I would have thought that this is something easily "solved."

Fact: Clan Streak Short Range Missile 6-Packs, themselves, have a recycle time of 7 seconds.
(Verifiable bit of information by an accountable resource: Tool-tip in mech.)

Opinion: CSSRMs have a long recycle.
(Relative adjective.)

Any questions?
