Sorry but you cannot remotely call that weapon balance, seeing as SRMs have virtually NO cons other than requiring good aim. If PGI had increased the Rate of Fire for streaks to something comparable to SRMs to compenstate for the pinpoint damage, then I'd be less upset, but there is literally no point for anyone to use them now.

Did you read the rest of my post? They're still effective, and today's changes did almost nothing to them except make hit detection better by simplifying the code. I don't think you know what you're talking about.

Edit: And are you under the impression that SRMs were somehow buffed today? Because they weren't.

I'm also getting the 'servers are currently undergoing maintenance' message too. If so many other UK people are too I'm not going to do any uninstall/reinstall yet and see what happens.

Edit: Just seen the DNS 8.8.8.8 fix, will try that.

  • Jump-Jets heat enabled
    • Heat increases on a linear scale with each additional Jump-Jet.
    • Thrust increases on a linear scale with each additional Jump-Jet.
Jump-Jet heat is a great idea(could be more!), but the thrust is way to bad!! No real movement is possible.
Please consider to nerf only the heat and not the thrust!

Can't Alt-Tab out of the client now, post patch. Anyone else having this issue?

Alt-TAB didn't work yesterday for me, UNLESS I already had another program running to alt-tab to. (Meaning for me it isn't a new thing.) Hope that helps?

And I'm not in the UK, and already use the Google DNS servers, so why can't I connect and patch???

More heat, more initial boost would have been better. The old system from MW: Living Legends was LIGHTYEARS better, instead of stopping this mod, they may should have talked to the modders or hire them. But finally Jumpsniping is a hard tradeoff for firepower, ammo or anything else...

Jump Jet height is horrible. Used to eb 60 meters with full JJ on a Heavy Metal, now its 33. I'm not sure if i like this, on the one hand death to poptarts. But i usually do run full jump jets when i decide to use them. When collisions do come back how is the Heavy Metal even supposed to get enough height to DFA someone. It can barely get up on one of the lower rocks on Forest Colony. I'm not sure if i'm willing to give that up just to kill the poptart meta.

A close quarters weapon that takes 7 seconds to reload in a game where you are likely to die under massed fire in the same amount of time. Yeeeaaaahhhh, that's really balanced. I never said anything about SRMs getting buffed, I said streaks have been nerfed to the point where there is no reason, EVER to use them over SRMs. You're the one who doesn't have a clue.

The reasons to take them over SRMS:

1. Easier to use / aim
2. Very effective against Lights

If you're trying to use them to do significant damage to Heavies or Assaults you're doing it wrong. If they're your main source of firepower, and you're not specifically trying to fill a "light-hunter" role, you're doing it wrong.

And the fact that they set the CSSRM6 recycle time at 7 seconds isn't a nerf - that was their initial state, and hasn't been changed. And it certainly wasn't changed during this patch (to which this entire thread is dedicated). So take your "I want an auto-aim weapon to be super effective against everything" argument to the General Discussion forum, where it can be promptly dismissed by the people who actually know what they're talking about.
