S build with a UAC 10, two PPCs, 2 jjs. First match with it properly built 934 damage, 5 kills, 6 assists. Love this mech.

The Summoner is a damn fine mech, too.

So you had one good match with it before declaring it the new meta?
A build that runs way hotter than the current DS builds and has less FLD? If anything, Gauss+ 2 ER PPC is more likely to become the "new" (old) meta. Give it some time.

No. It doesn't.

When people refer to pinpoint damage, they're referring to all the damage hitting in a single, small point. Not just all converging on the reticle.

Well, the combination of pinpoint and frontloaded.

I consider lasers to be pinpoint, since they do converge and hit where the crosshair is. But there have been debates on it.

I'm finding PPFLD to be more 'feast/famine' while the steady DPS of the Clans weapons is more steady diet. Liking it more. Finding I can do well with SRMs, lasers, ACs or any mix. Honestly? I think the CERPPCs are over-rated. Yes, in the right game they can get you a lot of kills (after your teammates have done the heavy lifting) but match after match?

Steady, brutal damage to everyone you see.

You're only gimping yourself trying to run Clan mechs in the same fashion as IS meta poptarting builds.

Here's what a real build is, with no jump jets, no PPCs, and no ACs:

Average performance across 9-10 games (including losses) was ~800 damage and 2-3 kills. One game with 7 kills.

This thing is an in-your-face, DPS monster.

People who claim the "new meta is X" don't realize the actual meta has not changed since the first closed beta tester realized 2 Gauss Rifles fit on a K2.

The bottom line of "the meta" is pack on as much front loaded pinpoint damage into a single weapon grouping.

That is it the entirety of "the meta" everything else is how you do it.

the Timber Wolf was one of the Clans greatest mechs, not surprising its does well, speed, firepower, and enough armor, to scare anyone on the battlefield.

I'm curious...according to your screenshot it appears as though you dropped as a 4-man group. Why, pray tell, are you logging significantly higher damage than your clanmates? Are they just not as good?
