And there comes the point of the thread. I have listened to experienced players stating that Clan Mechs are not OP. I have kept my mouth shut and tried new and other tactics. It just won't work. Before the Invasion I have managed to achieve a KDR of 1.9 after the recent stats wipe. I am not a good player by any means, but I did 300-600 damage and 0-3 kills per match and I was happy with it.
Now ... with the Clan Mechs out ... I am simply vaporized and get significantly less damage and almost no kills per match. My KDR dropped to about 1.2 and still falling. Why is that?
I think it is because for a player like me, the advantages of a Clan Mech outweigh the disadvantages by far. I drive assaults and heavies, so the lack of pinpoint damage in Clan Mechs is irrelevant for somewhat experienced players as my Mechs are slow. On the other hand, Clan Mechs have more free space and weight for loadout, they have Clan XLs, they have better DHS, the have less heavy and more powerful weapons and more range and less minimum range. They are simply better and I am experiencing this as I am being vaporized in game.
As I am unable to play lights and fast mediums I almost exclusively use LRM boats to hide in fear or SRM brawlers for a mimimum of success in game, All my other builds just don't cut it any more and I'll start selling Mechs soon as they don't see the field of battle any more.
That might not be the case for good or competetive players or meta-users, but it is true for me and my playstyle. Clan Mechs are OP for me and my gaming experience severly suffers since their introduction.
Overall I think the Clans are well done and thought out, I just wished they would not need to be balanced against IS Mechs and would be seperate from the IS on the battlefield. CW is really missing here. I'd like them as opposing forces but not as just more Mechs to chose from.
H.
P.S.: the most annoying thing about Clanners though is that their Mechs are all new and shiny while my IS machines all look worn out and dirty. I expect to be able to buy cleaning kits for MC soon!

I personally love the Clans. I think a couple chassis are a bit on the OP side that can be fixed with some minor tweaking, but overall I think it's pretty okay.
You see me posting my own topics about that though? No. I use the REPLY feature to topics that already exist.

Character? Thanx mate. I love you, too. I bet you are a very important and competent person. Combining arrogance and stupidity is highly efficient and simply brilliant.
I initially wanted to point out or discuss the inter-individual differences of the impact the Invasion has on balance, meaning it obviously affects some players (like me) more than others and wanted to see if this is generally related to the level of skill.
I see now it was a mistake posting in such a forum. Don't worry, you won't see me again doing so.

Most mechs have some glaring flaws, or simply aren't very good. TimberWolf seems to be the best, but can be considered a fast stalker. Remove both STs and he dies, instead of just becoming a stick.

I think it is the combination of me using mainly lasers and preferring close to medium range combat in slow Mechs that makes me more vulnerable to the new Clantech while I don't hit the enemy any harder myself.
I fully understand that most of this should be related to the fact that I am not one of the best players around. It is still a problem for me though as suddenyl being outclassed in any match isn't that funny for anyone.

The only Clan laser that does more damage than an IS laser in the same time frame is the ERML. The cERLL requires 1.2 seconds to deal the same 9 damage as the IS does in one second.
So, as soon as you finish your beam, stop looking at them. Torso twist to spread damage, and thus survive longer.
Meds are lacking in armour. Laser meds are worse off than other types, since you have to stare with your weak STs, and likely XL engine. Not much you can do about that, other than take some SRMs or an AC20 along with some laser.

Ha! That's exactly what I read as well.
So you made a thread complaining about your KDR and your losses only to whine some more about them not being the enemy... which would mean you'd be fighting 100% clan mechs and hence lose even more, driving down your precious KDR even more?
And you're right. PGI took one look at your account and exclusively locked out clan mechs for you... forever.
Lastly, you make a post that is purely anecdotal with no shred of objective evidence and yet call people's replies mutterings. Pot, kettle, holy ****, black.
I simply use thte KDR as an indicator of performance drop. I actually don't care about the number itself. And for me, a sudden drop in performance in coincidence with the introduction of a new force is evidence enough to suspect said introduction as the cause of the loss of performance. No more "evidence" needed.
FASA locked the Clan Mechs forever. I don't play a character representing what the Clans represent. Fighting them is fine though, in whatever environment would be doable, like 2 stars vs 3 lances or whatever. Add CW to the mix and life will improve.

This alone means op isn't just a bad player, but a dumb one who refuses to adapt.
You admit you're not a good player
So basically when you say X is op it means nothing.
Just because an incompetent person says something is hard doesn't mean it is.
Of course I admit that I am not a good player. So what? Where's the problem with that?
And of course when I say "Clan Tech is OP for me" it means exactly that. It is OP for me.
My point is that while experieced players say it ain't OP it still is for me and as my gaming experiece suffers I'd liek to find out why this is the case any maybe what can be done about it since everything I tried from the other threads concerning or touching this subject did not yield any great results.
Competence is overrated. If enough incompetent persons say something is hard then this will become the truth. And it will be hard.

I can't even tell you how stupid that mentality is
You get better by trying to learn and adapt which you obviously haven't tried
It's your fault you have a hard time because you won't even try lights or mediums
Maybe before you post a wall of text containing a bunch of whining we've all heard before you could try something new
Nobody is going to lower the standard for you and if that upsets you then you're gonna have a hard life
All this post is is just another whiner upset the game has changed
If you've been around long enough you'd understand that stupid crythreads like this are not how things get changed around here.

Well forgive me for not wanting to repeat the same thing said in every single other topic that's already beginning to be repeated here. It clutters the board, shows not even the slightest attempt to even look at the topic titles on page 1 to find an answer, and forces other NON-"Clan vs IS" topics to get lost amongst the mess. Some of us do enjoy not engaging in the same debate in multiple different topics you know.
Here's a list of the current topics related to the same thing OP decided to start a new topic about:
1. Clan Mechs = Great Pilot Skill Revelation Tool...
2. Please, When Talking About Clan Mechs...
3. Simple Way To Explain The Failure Of Current Weapon Balance
4. Clan Mechs Are Changing The Nature Of The Pug
5. Clan Invasion = Pay To Win?
6. Clan Is Op Or You Guys Are Blind?
7. Is Vs Clan Match
8. Is Vs Clans, With Science! New Data - 17/07/14
9. For All The Qq People About Clan Mechs Being Op Or P2W
10. Something Has To Be Done About Clan Mechs (Mainly The Timberwolf And Partially The Direwolf)
10 separate topics. All still active within the last 24hrs.

It's called basic forum etiquette. A person makes at least some effort to look and see if there's already a topic that's discussing what they want to talk about. On most forums people will get angry if you didn't do an actual search via the search function, but here the search function is kind of borked. Still could've looked at the first page and seen there were 4 active threads about the same topic before creating another one.

I am sorry that your reading comprehension is apparently lacking.
I have tried to adapt and failed.
I don't try lights and mediums because my reflexes aren't fast enough and my brain starts twisting in my head. Simply put: I am way better with heavies and assaults. Or even simpler: I would be even worse with lights. And I tried.
I am not whining, I am looking for solutions. I don*t want anything to change for me nor do I expect it would be changed anyhow.
And I have been around a long time. And I know this forum sucks and shouldn't have posted and wasted our time.

I can't forgive you, sorry. I have read the threads. They didn't help.
I don't want to talk about the question if Clans are OP or not on an absolute level, I want to see if there are more "lesser players" experiencing the same problem I do and not finding a solution.
The solutions for the pros are of no interest for I am not capable of playing like a pro nor do I want to. So I need solutions for the noobs or inexperienced gamers. Solutions for those experiencing the Clans as OP.
I fully understand that this is my fault for not being a good player, but that doesn*t advance matters either, does it?

Just responding to the thread in kind really.
He comes on, mutters something that basically says - "I'm dying more, my KDR is going down, thus clan mechs are OP".
No shred of any other evidence apart from that. And you expect people to take him seriously?
So all deaths he experienced were due to clans? What about Buckton SRM fixes? JJ fixes now forcing people to actually move to enemies? LRM changes? Or just pure bad luck run on his part?
No, he comes on, whined about his losses and blames the most convenient thing and you wonder why people respond in kind? Stupid is as stupid does.

Hey OP, I think I found your main problems.
1: You ignore the inner sphere's greatest asset, pin point, front load damage.
2: You pilot big,slow mechs.
3:you don't attempt to rectify parts 1 and 2 to fix your complaint about clan mechs.
Adjust steps 1 and 2, and try again.
