Ever since the institution of the "band-aid" of the Elo based Matchmaker, those of us that drop exclusively in the PUG queue (both pre and post 4 man) have been SCREAMING at you to fix the problem with relation to skill based separation.
Us "experienced" players (and I use that term loosely) are tired of having to carry 4-8 drooling idiots every single match.
The "new players" (like half a dozen people I've tried to get interested in the game) don't like being put into a match where everyone else seems to have a better grasp of how everything works...not to mention their reaction speed.
I've NEVER seen anyone with PGI or IGP designations playing solo. Prior to the "re-write" of the matchmaker, I saw them occasionally...in a 3 or 4 man group. Since the "re-write," I've yet to see one of them drop with us...the unwashed mouthbreathers.
It seems to me, in retrospect, that the reason for starting new players in the middle of the Elo chain is because PGI is in the bottom part of the food chain themselves and is unable to fathom the fact that more than 50% of the people playing this game are far, FAR, better than they are.
If new players were started at the bottom of the food chain, PGI employees would be forced to play against people with Elo scores similar to theirs....the difference is, the other people earned that score. PGI employee's scores are just as artificially inflated as the new players starting the game.
Here is my challenge to all PGI/IGP players:
Play the solo queue for 5 consecutive days without dropping dropping in a group.
We all know that Elo is effected by Win/Loss. Come, join us in the cesspit of the matchmaker you've forced upon us. Watch your W/L and Elo tank out. We'll welcome you with open arms...after we all crush you beneath our feet. Suck it up with the rest of us.
Those of you that aren't IGP/PGI employees...feel free to flame away. Especially you White Knights. In fact, I extend the challenge to you as well. Come, visit the septic tank. We'll be there, waiting for you, expecting you to carry 11 of us every time you play.
Carry on.
