hero mechs, new mechs, etc. aren't mech packs like Clan and PP though.

I know, but every mech that has came out has been over time-C Bill applicable. The idea to buy the mechs(excluding founders) has never been a need, just more of a want.

That is why I said I would ignore it. Whether its single mechs or a pack does not make much difference, unless it gets my interest. even then, if I know I can get it for C-bills i wont rush it.

I can understand that, although I see a clan forum badge under your name :D

If there is another cash grab before CW, I think it would finally show what PGI thinks of it player base.

Dispite some Players waiting for their favorite Mech, MWO is really in no need of new Mechs in its current state.
They will add nothing to variety. IS and Clan mechs are so customizable, that you can already build every sensible mech config you can ask for. (e.g. you can rebuild a Maurodeur with a Orion)
So more Mechs will not make the game (in general) more interessting,

I think we need more Maps with more different feel instead of only new look and/but same feel. And i think we need larger maps and more game modes (e.g. asymmetric) and other match rewards to support those larger and more different maps. Because today it's almost everytime: "Go to mostly the same spot an a map and shot at the enemy." Lights and mediums can't really fullfill there role.

I think of a really Canyon mapm where we can't get on top. Instead we have to use real scouts looking for the enemy in a labyrinth of canyons. I also think more dynamic maps would be nice. (e.g current canyon or crimson with rising/dropping water leves. This would be nice, if we had es real water physics effecting mech movement)

In short: I think another mech pack is a step in the wrong direktion and makes me think it's another money machine bevor this game goes south.

I almost forgot. Befor PGI brings new mechs, they should finish their work on re-design existing mechs (e.g. Weapon representation, hitbox-balancing) and maybe add more damage representation (e.g. lets remove mor earmor and lets see mor internals and lets make destroyed legs more recognisable) and add more damage effects (e.g. if you overkill one component with Lasers let the beam come out the other side without damage to mechs behind, some for other Weapons, bigger explosions for reactor destruction without damage to nearby mechs)

It better not be the McMech Pack™ or they'll get the McTrademarkPolice™ after them. :)

There are enough people who like only a few variants and miss out on any mech bonuses whatsoever. Perhaps something you can unlock in the store that you purchase with a combination of Loyalty points and MC. A consumable you use on a mech to grant a permanent bonus to your earnings. Perhaps this could come with a decal as well when they're introduced to help single out your elite mechwarrior status within the house?

There are plenty of decent online games where you need to unlock store access for certain items. The lack of account progression beyond new mechs and generic Xp is tiresome and probably the main thing keeping me out of the game for long periods.

I'm all for the UrbanMech being MC only. All variants. That would really separate the boys from the men. :) I'll let you decide which is which.

Regarding maps, we seem to have a decent spread for the size of map we currently have and the game modes. Actual objectives an attacker has to fight through to obtain or interactive map features is the logical progression and I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about that.

I believe every House should have it's own "Fortress Map" as each has very unique architecture to distinguish itself. Fight across and through a Forest to the mountain Fortress where the Panthers are built for the DCMS.(OMG lore accurate map :( When you reach the doors you have to relay hacking access to command to open one or all of the entrances to the Fortress. Enter Fortress. Blow up essential factory features. Retreat back to dropship. The more tonnage you return with, the better payout you get. Actually, that might be a good middle ground between repair and rearm. You get a better team payout depending on how much tonnage is left at the end of the match. Extra creds for Mercenary accounts and extra loyalty points for House Factions?

I'll probably just sigh, shake my head, I might vent a bit of frustration on the forum, then go back to playing a different game. Honestly don't see myself playing MWO again before CW launches.

Same. I browse the forums just because I'm working and still love the BTech franchise. I haven't played the game since the Clan introduction (it was not an invasion) .. I'm holding out hope that the next CW phase will make it worth my while to play again.

They already stated they got dedicated mech designers and that that is a well oiled machine I am always for more mechs more more more is better. More clan mechs more weapons, need tank support modules and infantry modules as well. Elementals to ride on those perches clan mechs have built in for them. Arrow iv but your catapult can only carry a few, ........... hey would not hpg manifold friggin rock if every once and a while a low flying pirate cruiser rained death down forcing a move to the basement area.

Depends entirely on the details (Chassis, price, timeframe, etc.), but as it stands I`d rather see significant CW progress, first :)

Greetings all,

First sorry for going off topic, but the latest responses were about maps before CW.

@ Niko:

Reference your statement;
"If there are specific maps from past MechWarrior games which you would be keen on seeing again, I'd be open to hearing them and pushing those suggestions up the chain for later maps."

So, here's the question,
Is there or are there any specific reasons that some of the 'already designed and played on' maps from MW:LL cannot be brought into MWO?

- they were at there design time 'sanctioned' by MS and Crytech. (the 2 licence holders for the content)
- they use items found within the CryEngine (although some may be from Crysis Warhead)
- all the maps are available within the 'now unsanctioned' and still being developed MW:LL library
- some of these maps are unbelievably gorgeous in there design and layout (if you remove the respawn base's)
- the original map design artists are still available, most have gone onto other projects

All the best maps from MW:LL took nearly a year or more to design and create, with many months of testing and refinement, this has got to save some time for PGI's development team if they are able to use these maps. These maps were designed to accommodate up to and over 32 Mech's with various other types of Aerospace, Armour, and active ground installations.

Is there a problem with the art assets and the current CryEngine? Is there Legal issues with Crysis elements being used? Is there Legal issues with the 'at the time' licence users designing these maps?
- I just find it difficult to see these maps still being used for BattleTech Mech battles and not having some method of transiting these great maps into the current rendition of the BattleTech licence holder. (MWO)
- I fully understand the older games and not being able to use there maps as they were not designed within CryEngine, and only offer some idea of what any new maps should be laid out like.

Serious minds would like to know what issues PGI has in acquiring the existing best maps from that offering of a BattleTech environment. (I would think that those map designers would love to have there created maps seen in this newest game, even if only offered there name in the credits)
- I could see one issue, if MWO took sole possession and rights of specific maps, that MW:LL may no longer be able to have them in there library. As well as the designers possibly no longer able to offer them in there portfolio of created artwork?
