I like SRM-2's for their high rate of fire. SRM-6 has high burst damage but mediocre cooldown. When a SRM hits, a mech tends to rock for a bit and its difficult to aim. SRM-2's with their high rate of fire can keep them rocking sometimes and they'll have a hard time doing anything back to you.
The Combo SRM-2, SRM-4, and SRM-6 loadout is intended to offset cooldown on alpha. A SRM-2 has a 2 second cooldown. A SRM-4 has a 3 second cooldown. SRM-6 is at 4 seconds.
This means if you alpha all three at once. You can fire the SRM-2 a few seconds later, the SRM-4 a second afterward and a SRM-6 one second after that. It allows you to stagger your SRM's so you're firing close to 1 SRM group per second even if all 3 are in the same weapons group as an alpha.
At least in theory. Can't say I've tried it, yet.
Okay, I had a suspicion that was another thing you might be going for. I just don't run into many people who like to use the forced stagger tactic. In that case, you are just fine.

We are coming up to the anniversary of the sale of Sarah's Jenner. Could we please have another charity sale to donate money and get this mech? I wasn't playing MWO a year ago, and I for one would welcome the chance to get the JR7-D(S) by donating to a worthy cause.
I know several players who bought their first mech after the charity drive last year and really got into the game after.
A.

So anyway the addition of a YLW a Grid iron and a Fang completed my collection nicely. And after selling off two spare mechs to make room for two of them got a bit of extra kit floating around too great.
Anyone want to buy my account?

I know it's a joke, but I don't think the mods would take kindly to it.

Yeah steam sales have been the major opponent for MWO sales in my case over the years, when I can buy a old but awesome triple A game (Skyrim or such) for the same price as a premium paint color in MWO it gets mighty hard to justify another hue of red-ish. Right now it would be more like....Dead Island collection for $8 vs $7-$15 for a single hero variant. (I can't speak for the rest of the MWO playerbase, but IGP's prices have made it easy for me to spend money elsewhere most of the time.)

Ditto. Picked up the Dead Island combo for $8, Defense Grid 2 Early Access for $23, instead of buying MC that will barely get me a single Clan mech.
I bought the a-la-carte MadCat and although it's a decent mech, I am regretting that I plunked down $55 for it. I love battletech, but more mechs, colors, and cockpit items isn't going to keep me interested.

This is very true.
Most other F2P games rely on small purchases that players can easily justify and and feel good about. Look at TF2 and Dota, all the gameplay content is totally available in the game proper, but you can buy tons of $2.00+ hats and wizard cloaks to swag out your favourite characters. Even Hawken had entire paint schemes and camo paints available for under $5, and mechs only cost $2-$5.
MWO on the other hand wants your money. At 1000 MC, most premium paint costs roughly $7. Camo schemes cost more, then have the gall to ask for money for the paint! Hero mechs cost anywhere from $10-$40 and clan mechs are even more.
Not only are these prices insanely high compared to other F2P games, they also effect gameplay! Don't tell me with a straight face that part of the appeal of the MadCat and Direwolf right now isn't the advantage it gives you in combat. After towing a very fine line for a long while (Misery, Heavy Metal, Dragon Slayer, etc have all enjoyed popularity thanks to "accidentally" fantastic hardpoints which flattered the meta-game for the time they were hot), we've finally tripped into real P2W territory.
MWO is a game that wants more of your money than most other F2P games, and not just for cosmetic fun things you WANT to do, but for gameplay altering advantages that you may feel you HAVE to buy to keep up with the competition and enjoy the game. Then we have this last second firesale on IS hero mechs to drain MC before clan stuff is available. I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I can't help but feel this sale is because they KNOW this is the last chance to sell IS mechs, because clan stuff is blatantly superior despite their claims of balance.
It's extremely ugly business and I don't want to support it. I've always loved the paint job on the Protector, but even at 50% I feel the moral cost of supporting them is too high.

You don't think customer feedback is useful or important? You never read an online review before buying something to see if other people were happy with their purchase?
