50% off "existing resources" doesnt effect CW development at all does it?

This even before you consider that the development team for CW is seperate from those involved with Mechs anyhow.

My bank account doesn't see separate teams. When I'm making decisions about how to spend my money, PGI is all one company, and they're either getting things right or they aren't.

I could not help it... bought the Golden Boy, Misery, and X5. Thought about an Arrow, Heavy Metal, and a IV-Four.

Have just about everything else already.

I liked the sale, I got me a few mechs I have liked in the past. Had a fun past 6 games in them.
I'd call that a result.

So speaks the $0 investor who wants the world at that price. However, value is subjective hence why I don't mind supporting the game you like to play for free.

Any reason to complain is all I'm seeing.

You don't laugh anymore do you?

Laugh at what you fear, and it no longer has power over you.,.,
Hatred only allows you the privilege of becoming that which you hate...

btw Opus how is that Nihlism working out for you? :) Since epistemology is a better resolve for fear I find that usually negates ignorance that could lead to the issues you describe.

He bought the Pretty Baby at full price. Then things like ghost heat killed the Awesome. I can't blame him for some bitterness, though a sale on stuff that's already made ages ago doesn't mean any development time is taken away from CW.

IGP (the publisher) runs the sales. Not PGI. IGP gets paid first and then shuffles funding into PGI.

Or so was the impression given by Paul in an interview with NGNG.
Paraphrased: We don't control the promotions (sales). IGP does.
Mechs Devs & Beer 15.

How did you come up with "$0"? Out of your @$$, that's how.
I've put $280 into this game. That's the most I've spent on a video game, ever, and I'm not spending any more at least until Community Warfare.

More money surely means more potential development on a relative scale due to the amount invested by the playerbase?

Hence if you don't contribute but "still want the moon", I find that thinking a bit of a false economy.

Healthy 4 figure dollar sum here, in for the long haul, investing in the game in advance of CW to ensure the game can try to be the best it can be.

This is one of the vastest sales that has been hosted yet. Purchasing these Mechs has 0% negative impact on the game's development rate, including that of Community Warfare.

Yet, people are complaining about this sale because of unrelated developmental efforts. You now understand why some people are not taken seriously by Developers. If you complained about development pace in a thread or other environment that was geared toward discussing development, then you might be taken seriously. However, when you complain about the pace of persistent territorial ownings in a thread that's there to announce the best Mech sale to-date... people tend to tune you out, because you're out of line.

Put your complaint about X in threds about X, and talk about the Sale here in this thread about the sale.

I like this sale, but I have most of the Hero Mechs for any Chassis that I run multiple variants... the only Hero I don't have from that lot is a Jester... hrm...

While true, there's also a limit of how much each individual would want to invest into a game.
For example with the number of 500 dollar mechs that have been bought (Timber Wolves with over 50 as a "only 50 left", meaning there was probably 70 to 75 total, sold out completely). The sheer amount of heromechs bought every week. Mechbays. Paints. Camos. I myself have over a thousand dollars in this game not counting the $240 Clan package that someone (incredibly awesome I might add) gifted me when I was out of the job.

However...
Spoiler

Most people spend 60 dollars on a game and move on. Some go up to 120 for the 4+ expansions that come out (CoD or BF anyone?). But 280+ or in my case over 1,000... and you think we're expecting the moon without doing our share of investing?

Though, yes. I'm with Prosperity Park (and said it already myself - sorry Liquid), I know the sale of things already made hasn't got any detrimental affect or aversion on what's still being made.

I appreaciate personal circumstances and individual value Koniving. But that isnt the premise for my concern.

If you want something to be done and done well, you will have to pay for it. I'm not forcing anyone to part with their cash as it is a personal choice at the end of the day.

This sale is a personal choice to invest in the game and purchase useful mechs at half price. When this is simply selling existing assests I fail to see how it can be perceived as any way detrimental to the overall benefit of MWO as you describe tbh.

Spent a lot, may spend more (Christmas is coming eventually...) and now I'm stuck with the decision of whether or not to buy Hero mechs I know I will not play until I finish mastering 21 more Clan mechs, and I haven't got two other mechs to reach master.

La Malinche, Arrow and Loupe de Guerre... Hmmm.

They slipped them quietly into the sale, too. Take another look, there's 16 Champions instead of 13 on the list now.

Hmmm... what to buy. I need to choose carefully because I don't spend as much as many here.

My 1st was ILYA, then the Ember. I went with the ILYA because of being unique with 3 huge Ballistic. And I went for Ember because of being quick, can fly and I love MG for crits so I can destroy many parts and this is the Mech in all my collection who gets me the most C-Bills.

If I want to spend below 2500 the one that looks interesting to me are:

- ARROW (nice look, 6 MG power!)
- IV-FOUR (JJ)
- YEN-LO (AC20 then zombie)

Is OXIDE 4xSSRM still viable?
And I see GRID IRON that could be an option.

I have mastered all chassis, except BJ and QD (that's not a problem). Which one is tough enough to last longer?
