I agree with the bobble head and hula girl sentiments, I also like the different color schemes for cockpits, I would also love a plastic T-Rex taped to a part of the dash, and a roll of duct tape on a hook or something would be hilarious.

I also agree mortified penguin's rear view camera. Anything that allows you to see behind you would be amazing. Maybe it could be an alternate screen to the minimap/radar screen, or mounted at the top of the cockpit.

I do like the "Custom Picture" idea, along with the bobble/hula and the Dice.

Since we may not get customisable mech paint jobs (Cause some one will make one of their junk, and some mom will be upset when her 10 year old sees it)
Why not have the ability to have user customisable cockpit bits and bobs. Like the steam work shop, have the interior, where its just you seeing it, be much more customisable with user made content. The comunity seems to be very creative. Show your love by letting them show theirs
We are "treading into battle" and "Risking our lives" so why not "relax the regs alittle" where its just us seeing it.

tldr but did anyone ask for small cockpit pinups of super hot girls? (Okay, okay. Fine. And hot guys too for the fairer amongst us who'll be playing.) You know, leaning up against mechs in alluring "drive this and you'll get me" kinda ways? Holding ridiculously over powered assault weapons? If not, they should've. If so, +1! Any sort of Music System, preferably integrated.

Slots for these kinds of things should be limited depending on how much they clutter the cockpit. Maybe certain options that take up less space can fit more easily, like kill tally scratched onto the existing hull, can tally behind other things a little. Maybe use a Critical Mass/Space limitation system, or limited slots for specific things, etc. Then again maybe some pilots want to dump a truck load of tiny action figures in their rig and squint between the cracks to see what they're doing, who knows. Could be interesting and I wont turn down an easy kill.

What about, before all systems are nominal you get a big "PENDING" sign and when your systems become fully operational you get a big "REDACTE" sign.

Would be cool for each faction to have their own different good luck charms to bring some more depth to everything. I definitely second the idea of postcards/pictures. Also, maybe a well used notebook, stickit notes with funny reminders ('don't hit eject!')
