As people already said, changeable HUD elements.
Also, 'Mech specific health indicator on the HUD as opposed to the universal one.
Cracks, slight steam, and controls crackling from severe damage.
Legs-Torso angle indicator other than the one on the map.

Hope these won't be too pricey.

I'm mostly seconding other people ideas. I want a gentleman's mech so no fuzzy dices for me ;p but what's important is that it is customizable so those who want an object and not another can pick and choose. So here are my choices among the ideas given so far:

- cup holder (with options for type of drinks in it)
- smoldering cigar in ashtray
- liquor flask
- kill count board
- pinup poster/postcard
- place to upload image
- faction related objects (insigna, coat of arms, rank, medals, small flag, ribbon etc.)
- customizable cockpit/HUD (display types, colors/lights)
- effects in windows and such (cracks, steam, dust, dirt)
- hand weapon (pistol, knife, whatever)
- old school radio
- sunglasses
- first aid kit
- some kind of made-up sports memorablia
- screen to get rear-view (this has a gameplay effect unlike the rest though)
- dog tags
- bullets/ammunition
- clock
- leather gloves
- any kind of survival gear items
- small fire extinguisher
- small pet (hamster, fish, lizard)
- fan



I think that's about it but i'm sure there are tons of other great ideas.

-Personalized photos on the dash.
-Wear and tear on the cockpit depending if you're affiliated to a house or if you're a poor Merc. A dynamic cockpit repair state dependent on your bank account.

Hell, I have secondary LCD monitor, even a backup third if I wanna configure. I'd take some extra HUD space or even an option to bring up the tactical map on the backup monitor. For now I just use it to display the keyboard configuration I captured screen to help me remind me of all my options when I forget. That would be pretty gangsta to display different items in the cockpit, I'd like to see a magic 8 ball, to see if I'll win my next sluggo match with anothe mech. All in all I'll be satisfied with an option to view my mech in 3rd person view, thought it does detract from the semi- realism of piloting an actual mech.

Decals for the windows (side windows etc.), of all sorts and shapes. Personally I want Cyan/White shooting stars, but I don't see why this couldn't be applied to anything.
