The awesome though? I would have much rather have a slim down of the model and reduction in ct size rather than large amounts of power creep. Imo the changes to the Awesome are treating symptoms rather than the root causes. Sop for phi.

That will cost PGI too much time and money. They rather take the easy way out.

Noooo...I was hoping it would be like photoshop and they can just mouse the cursor over the edge of the mechs frame, drag it smaller. Wouldn't that be sweet...;(

It is not that simple. They will have to relocate weapon/AMS firing positions for the new model, as well as hitbox adjustments--for PGI, it is out of the question. Us Founders already have been asking for size changes for 2 years, without success.

When the Awesome was introduced I was like...0_o..."realy? Iz so fugly..."

In regards to the redoing of machines into MWO, the Awesome was a victim of the ugly stick.

I'm odd. I'll use a machine that looks cool and not as good as others, mastering it to get the job done, but I won't sit in a machine that is terrible to look at, even if it's a very powerful or popular rig.

One would assume once the ST is gone, the DR is back to the base value versus the --> CT and any ST bonus simply dies with said ST.

Very well might be true.

I pilot it now and do just fine with it. That people need quirks to make it more viable is telling.

I've seen people pilot Locusts and do well with them.

Doesn't make it a good mech.

No, it won't affect my choice to pilot one, but that's more because I don't really like to pilot assaults. It's a very welcome change to a pariah of a mech though. I am 100% for the buffing of the Awesome chassis.

This gives me hope that they may finally address how ridiculously easy it is to core a Catapult.

Give it 90 days, 6 months, or a year... before they figure this out.

Out of curiosity....but it does absolutely nothing to fix what's wrong with the chassis. It barely mitigates it.

My awesomes are some of my better scorers anyways.

This is just icing on the giant cake

Bit of a bump maybe, but I gotta say I love the new Awesome quirks.

Been running around with 3x ER PPC's in my 9M for about a day now and it actually manages to keep fairly cool with a steady barrage of lightning even on hotter maps. It finally feels like a mech built as an energy boat.

How is that extremely slow PPC speed working for you though?

PGI giveth and PGI taketh away!

It's not as bad as people are making it out to be... although shooting @ long distances is like asking to pull teeth.

I started the 8V out with limited firing versatility (didn't use the arms), so anything I facehugged generally died, but anything that required arm articulation, I was a glutton for punishment. I kinda corrected that, but that was close to the end of the grinding (mastered it like on Tuesday).

There's just a lot more side torso destruction that went on from this change... which was a relatively expected result (the Victor didn't suffer this bad).

I am finding the PPC speed frustrating personally but it might be made worse due to Australian ping - needs more testing though.

The QQ about the PPC speed nerf is overly exaggerated to the max. Took me 2 games to get use to the slower speed and its back to business as usual.
