Most variants could use a slightly higher engine cap...bump it up to 325 at the very least. Maybe a lil bit higher than that.

Just took out my AWE-9M in honor of the upcoming buffs. Guess piloting Clan mechs made me a better shot...pulled this off just now. Good way to end the night...

Because K2s are rare like hunchbacks, dragons and awesomes...

In those not-so-AWESOME times it's not AWESOME at all to try being an AWESOME AWESOME pilot - sadly no matter what.
If you feel AWESOME piloting an AWESOME that's a whole different story though :)

With PPC's? Hell yes.
Imo all mechs should have a buff for using their stock weapons.

Well when you put it that way yes I agree with the ppcs on a K2 BUT only if they get their big cannons back.

Centurion = 10% more armor for left arm (shield is actually a shield)
Hunchback = 10% internal Structure in Right Torso (to make the AC-20 last longer)
Awesome = 12.5% less heat from energy weapons, 10% faster heat sinks, 17% more armor for CT
Dragon = 5% faster rate of fire for Ballistics, 5% less heat from Ballistics, 10% faster torso twist

Centurion's buff amounts to a glorious 3.2 more points of armor, Hunchback's is 2.4 points.

Wow that's... that's like, half a medium laser hit. Amazing!

Are we sure such a giant change won't make the already dominating and overpopulated medium class blow all other chassis out of the water? What does the telemetry say on that?

You know what, not even going to question those glorious offerings. TWO POINT FOUR MORE HEALTH!!! ROCK ON!!!

People complain if PGI make big changes so it's probably better for them to make changes that don't really make any difference :)

We're going to see many people trying the Awesome and we'll see many cries that it's OP, as the PPC crackling energy makes us some pugcakes for breakfast.

Changes to the Hunch and Centurion should be substantial for their quirks. It's what keeps them alive.

It's still an ugly toad. Needs a slight size adjustment as well.

Some quirks need to be taking 'Mech tonnage into account, and damage is a big one.

5% extra damage resistance on a Locust isn't much. 5% on an Atlas is noticeable improvement. You'd have to at least double the damage resistance quirk on the Centurion and Hunchback to really perk their defenses, and could likely triple it.

I would start @ like 50% with the Hunchback's RT first, but right now the proposed/projected #s are completely laughable.

- Awesome quirks: Very nice!

- Centurion quirks: very low, but nice.
could need a lift to 20% instead of 10% to make it noticeable.

- Hunchback quirks: Very low effect.
Only helps a tiny bit with not losing the shoulder, but the weapons can still get crit out at the same speed.
ACs (even the 20) will usually not see a difference as the gun will get crit before losing the whole shoulder, even with more structure hp.
Lasers might stay a tiny bit longer due to their numbers soaking crits seperately.

Rather than structure hp, the RT would profit more from reduced damage taken.
Crits to the weapons would be smaller and increase the livetime of installed weapons in the RT also.

- Dragon quirks: very small, but nice idea.
Balistic buff could be good, but 5% is like nothing. Even with AC10 or Gauss, this could use a bump to 10 or 15% before you notice the difference.
Twist speed could help to prevent CT death, but the whole nose is CT and makes it rather risky to twist, as it's sometimes easier to hit the nose from the side.

I may have to buy an awesome again. Haven't played one since closed beta.

With that being said, it will have to wait until after I've had my fun in my 3 AC/2 Dragon. Second favorite mech of all time and I feel sorry for the dust I let it collect.

I wonder if the AC2 ghost heat issue will be a problem with the increased fire rate.

I remember having asked them if they were ever going to do something like this back before they killed 'Ask the Devs.' The answer was cool idea, but no, we're not looking into it.

This is a case where I'm glad they flip-flopped...unique chassis quirks please!

Eliminating ghost heat would make things even better, repeat after me my rhyme:

Sounds nice, I'm glad to see them using this quirk system to help out some of the mechs that have needed love for a while now. Tweaking a damage reduction stat for a mech with a big CT is way easier that fixing the hit box. Thats nice for something like the Awesome that is so wide that pretty much any way you split up the hit boxes is going to be less than ideal.

YES! I can finally take my Awesome 9M out, and not suck quite as bad as I did before! Hopefully this'll make PPC builds more viable.
