Still quite a few weapon modules missing. Where is the LRM weapon module? Fair is fair..if you take away a module slot and convert it to a weapon slot, then you need to offer modules for every type of weapon, including LRMs.

Indeed, let the STIKEAPOCALYPSE begin.

...and so began the CONSUMAPOCALYPSE!!!!!

I implore everyone with the means to do so: shell the game non-stop. DO EET!

I dubbed it artygeddon yesterday... rolls off the tongue a little bit easier.

so this sli support?
second gpu at mmm well nothing still

trying dx11 now

EDIT: wow dx11 does some crazy crazy stuff, but since i run twin gtx 460's i'm not surprised.
graphics models not painting, holes in the landscape, mechs don't display at all or missing heads etc.

But the good news was the second gpu was getting up to 45% usage on very high graphics.
Back to dx9 for more testing

EDIT EDIT: DX9 second gpu now climbs to 28% in testing grounds but i think i left v-sync on.

more later
SUMMARY: i am well pleased

I do have a friend who I just played with, who has a Direct3D 11 capable OS (Win7) and hardware. He tried D3D 9.0c and 11, both show very little SLI usage on 2 * GTX 680. Same with MSAA.

I'm on D3D9 (XP x64 fully updated with Server 2003 patches) with two GTX 580, same story. It seems the SLI support is not really there... Unless we also need a new nVidia driver (profile) / compatibility bits to make it work.

Actually, I do get a little bit more load than him, but that may just be because I have slightly slower cards.

What exactly were you spending your money/gxp on that is of no use suddenly? I'm genuinely interested, because I haven't bought many modules yet as I've been buying and outfitting new mechs instead and I do pretty well for myself without modules on most of my mechs.

Seismic sensor (must) , radar deprivation , hill climb (must on an assault or your legs will stumble in every tiny rock) , and now i have to renounce on one of the above . Instead i get things that i never use , airstrike/coolshot and + 5/10/20M range (additional heat) on a 300/400M rage weapon . I lost 2 slots on my DDC and 1 on my Banshee , again from my point of view the slots remake is idiotic.

I know for crossfire to work you have to be in Full Screen mode. Maybe the same for SLI?

I accept that as a viable alternative, so long as the results are the same: I want 3-4 mechs down by strike alone every match. Who needs PPCs and ACs anymore?....

So... are you guys at least going to address that you completely broke jumpjets for non pop-tarts? I figured there would be tweaks to it in this patch, guess that was overly optimistic.

At the very least a "screw off, we want mechs to behave like the goodyear blimp" would be nice.

My 3 D-DC's alone just lost the use of 2 modules apiece. I am not at all happy.

This.
How is the Atlas supposed to be the Emperor of the battlefield when it can't even fight? All it's weapons are so low slung that fighting up hill is impossible and fighting downhill is just about impossible, and now you've completely neutered this mech. The DDC should certainly have 2 Mech slots not 1.

I am in fullscreen mode (not full window, real fullscreen), because I need that for VSync to work anyway. So that's not it.

Yeah, I don't see altering the point at which individual weight classes doing much to address the fact that Jump jets still have non-existent thrust, the changes won't do much because you still can't decelerate from a long fall with the fuel available.

nice to see they are changing from BT lore in favor of gameplay balance

even if it is just 10+ armour on the centurion arm
or the awesome tweaks

because locust's and direwolves translate akwardly into games with every mech having customizableweapons

Have you just renamed ft/s to m/s in fall damage indicator? Or can mechs now fall 3 times faster w/o taking damage?

If you want to give them credit, it was always m/s, it was just labeled wrong. I'll leave that decision up to you.

So what happened to releasing IS robots alongside clan robots?

Next month? Usually new mechs come out at the first of the month, not the 3rd patch of the month.

IMO, the solutions to the problems, and anger/frustration they created with this patch is thus:

1) Complete reset of the module system with refund of all GXP and CBills for modules.
2) Give all Mechs 2 module slots to start, with the 3rd unlocked though the trees. Hero Mechs can have 4 module slots.
3) Don't limit the module slots to a specific type, let the pilots decide what modules they want to equip.
4) Make the weapon modules actually add something to the weapon. Right now they are complete crap, and add little other than heat (which IMO is punishing a pilot for equipping a weapon module).
5) Don't discriminate against weapons, have Weapon module slots for ALL weapons, not just a few select ones. Example: no LRM module).

I don't know why the Devs had to complicate the module system so much. Instead of making a changes that could benefit everyone, and make most players happy, they've overcomplicated the system, really upset many players, and implemented changes that will make matters worse than they were before (examples: losing a cherished Mech module and the coming STIKEAPOCALYPSE/CONSUMAPOCALYPSE/artygeddon). This just feels like they are trying to force people to use weapon modules, and justify the man-hours spent developing something no one really finds worth a crap.

This weapon modules are worthless and pricey (nice contradiction). I'll just keep my slots empty except when I carry AMS. And that's what is going to be until we get some value out of this.
One mech module slot as standard is pure nonsense and I don't know where this arty/air spree will take us. It will be painful this couple of weeks that follow.

The rest of the patch is good and welcome, but this module revamp is starting off with the wrong foot in my opinion.

Thanks PGI, for ruining my carefully crafted combination of mech modules on 25 of my mech's..... that's 25 modules that are now useless uninstalled equipment.......

I rarely use consumables, and would rather save my cbills for more mech's or other equipment, and think that most all weapon modules are not worth it at all.... you want to add heat to a already too damm hot mech, with a weapon module that only gives me a extra few meters range.... That's BS... not gona use it..... Give me a module that decreases heat on the LAZORS that I love.... that would be usefull...... not impressed at all on this issue....... The Fall dammage change should help the lights and mediums and is a good change.... now buff the JJ's a good bit on lights and mediums to put the alitude gained on them back to close to where they were so that i can escape that heavie or assuilt by jumping out of the way......

moding need to be supported with a mission and map editor and you have more and more happy customer again.
