I believe it's actually themed off a mech in cannon.

You're right. I did mean 30%. The hardpoints aren't any more impressive than the Phoenix variant, and I'm not going to spend $20+ on a paint scheme.

This is literally and absolutely wrong. Ferro-fibrous has never, in any format of the game increased the maximum armor value of the 'mech. All that Ferro-fibrous armor does is increase the points of armor per ton invested, effectively reducing the weight of the same quantity of armor.

I love my battlemasters, and I love the way this one looks. I will for sure be buying this, but I am kind of disappointed that you didn't do the BLR-1G Red Corsair. I know that it would have messed up the game balance. I am still very happy that a hero Battlemaster has been released

Yeah, usually to those I use the argument of "hardpoints don't give advantage" Especially since this mech is a watered down version of the 1G and the 1S. Actually, I should say, it's more like the 1G and the 1S had a baby, and it was this guy. (rather apt, considering my 1S is named Hellfire)

That would've been an interesting choice for a hero mech. Honestly, they are all great.

The main reason corsair isn't in is because of the timeline. That one wasn't built untli 3055 I believe.

They self-restrict themselves from playing mechs with paint jobs (or names I'm speculating) that are associated with "bad" things.

While I personally think the paint on this thing is AMAZING, PGI is limiting it's sale-ability to certain sub-sects of people. Which I think is too bad. But, if people are going to split hairs on the (lack of) virtue that certain mechs have in this particular robot-based murder-simulator, then all power to them.

They could have used the original Red Corsair(identity of Katrina Steiner during her adventure in thePeriphery, see Red Corsair (3004)). I could find any info on it on sarna but I know it was consider canon tale and was mentioned in the warrior books but I don;t know what mech she used.
