Limited how? It's still torso mounted. The only thing the Raven 4X can do is SRM6+Artemis or LRM20, neither of which are a huge issue for a light mech, in my opinion.
Well, I'm talking about bigger LRM racks specifically (Artemis or otherwise). You're right on that note though.

Yeah, pretty disappointing that they still haven't even tried to do anything about the 5V. But this mech is still fairly limited in terms of weapons, I think. The only sensible weapons to put in the arms, I think, are medium lasers and MGs. If you're going with large lasers, you may as well go with the 5D. The disadvantage of its energy hardpoints are rather insignificant compared to the advantage of ECM, I think.
The ERPPC Spider knows no bounds. I still think the 5D is still the optimal mech because of ECM, but I think this variant is really geared for two specific roles... close range (NARC, med lasers, MGs) and trolling (PPC, ERL/LL).
The 5V is still a sad mech (they could've given it another freaking weapon module slot, and it would still suck, but be semi-useful with both AMS modules and a med laser module.... shoot me for mentioning the med laser module as "useful" here)

Things you can do with the 4X that you can't do with this Spider:
-Dual AC/2s
-Useful AC/10 builds
-Useful Gauss builds
-AC/20 <3
-aLRM10+
This is a superior option if you want to run a balanced jumping lasers+rockets+MGs, but it is not a direct replacement, nor does the hardpoint layout change anything because the weapons you might run are not bulky enough to matter (arguably having similar hardpoints paired in each arm is better for peeking).
You can run dual-AC2s, but it would just resemble some Urbie bong hit. You can't do the AC20 (actuators)... you can do AC10, but you'd just have to go crazy slow though.. remember people talking about crazy ballistic builds on the Spider....
