The StormCrow is amazing. Pants on head, cartwheels in joy amazing. The SHAWK and Griff are also great, but they suffer from not-SrormCrow...itis?

Every other medium is either filling a niche or is a shadow of it's former (4SP) glory.

Aryokenosis, I believe. Prefix "a-" meaning "not" and suffix "-osis" meaning condition of being <preceding term>.

The suffix "-itis" means inflamation of <preceding term>.

It's always been a mediocre mech. Fairly slow for its size, not enough tonnage to use ballistics or even some energy weapons effectively, meh hitboxes, and it's not 55 tons (55 tons is the optimal weight for mediums in BT).

Mediums got a lot better since the srm fixes. A Griffin or a Shadowhawk boating SRMs + Artemis can kill any mech in 2 salvos from the back, or completely peel off armor from the front. The hard part is getting close enough to use them.

Mediums need their JJ's the way they were, 100% or they're just not worth it.

Then you take a mech like the Quickdraw, which is by all intents and purposes still a Medium, and it got hurt even more.

Be glad there is no R&R. If there was, people would say that it is perfectly fine for lights and mediums to suck because they were cheap. Heavy+ would be the 'real mechs'. People would say, "It is totally right and good that heavy mechs are outright better than mediums and lights because they are more expensive."

At least without R&R we can have a conversation about how medium mechs are faring in game, rather than just knowing they were meant as cheap Cbill grinders.
