Stop adding range modules to Clan weapons. They ALREADY have a range advantage.
Add some sort of C3 module for the IS. It's one of the few advantages in the Lore.
Penalize Clan players for hitting multiple targets. Reward them for concentrating on one-on-one duels.

Well apparently we'll need a few more Factions and changes when the map timeline is moved to 3040-3049.
Make way for the
- Free Rasalhague Republic (although don't get used to the place your living in now.)
- Federated Commonwealth (big changes arriving soon.)
- St. Ives Compact
And for the name of the Units, I think that listed and established units, (reference the thread of listed units) and having a web presence, should have the designation of having there names held for them.
- If any conflicts then PGI should appoint a 'researcher' to establish who and when the units were established.
(this should eliminate the copycats and name grabbers)
- perhaps we need a referenced list from PGI of units name that have been taken, to eliminate any future conflicts and allow unit founders to 'see' what's not available.

All mechs already come with C3i modules in them by default right now.
Without them you wouldn't be sharing targeting data with your team.

Also of concern is the people who get first crack at names and lay claim to the tags to existing units (non Battletech Lore) like someone else goes out and grabs 228th or SJR before they can...
this has been known about to us founders since closed beta, i fail to see why this is still so shocking to people.
if you wanted a canon unit you should have done with the Deaths Hand boys did, and take the spirit of said unit you revere, and change it to make it your own.
show a little creativity and originality, and make a back story and unit history even make a staff of supporting characters, that's what i did with my unit even though i will never release it to the public.

Removing the IS laser nerfs would also be a big step to improving game balance.

you say you're for the timeline, but the mauler would BE HERE already.

Consider having a contest for new maps? Then pick the best ones giving the maker(s) a MC package.

1. (Q) Will Davion and Steiner be merged into FedCom (per tabletop for this time-period) or remain separate (as MWO has so far consistently maintained?) Either answer is fine; it's just a curiosity.
2. Could you patch us in (I'd imagine not, because Russ would have) on the sequence of the remaining Faction Sales? I know we've just had Kurita - and Liao's totally getting their signature medium 'Mech this month...
3. Will units have faction associations, or are they inherently mercenary?
Also, minor feature request: extra presets for faction-themed ranks. I understand that the US Army (why not the Canadian army? ) is a handy default; but the Houses use other naming schemes and ranks.
House - real-world parallel
Steiner - German
Davion - British
Kurita - Japanese
Liao - Chinese
Marik - generally American, though the "Marshal" rank is more typically English or French
FRR - Swedish
Clans - none (unusual)
It'd be a bit more immersive.
