12vs10 IS vs Clan testing?

A balance fix and lore fix in the same test?

Consider me in. ;)

There is no lore in it.

Russ, I count at least "13" (THIRTEEN) instances of the word "SALES" in your Command Chair Post.

Could you please cut back on the "SALES" a little and work out the annoying bugs in your super UI 2.0 like "Critical Slot Violation" (still happening), fix the chats bugs, and/or revamp the whole chat interface and provide us with a better tool for Social Interaction, that and a zillion other bugs that I have logged support tickets for, yet got "fobbed off" as too hard really.

So the sales department should sit idle and wait for the engineers to fix the bugs?

To the people who are saying that pgi making 12v10 matches is proof that they failed to balance clans are idiots.

IS uses lances (4 mechs). clanners use Stars (5 mechs). which means clans have two stars and IS have 3 lances is lore accurate.

It's been this way since tabletop in the 80s. Stop trying to find non-real reasons to harp on pgi.

If you're upset with them, that's your perogative. But if your reasons are not really reasons, people like me will call you out and make you look foolish. Just saying.

Edit: also, saying the clan packs are p2w? Really? Pretty sure I can go buy them now for mc and cbills. As the weeks go by, more and more are publically available. It's early access.

Robocraft gives early access to its premium users new blocks before others. I bet if pgi did that, people would lose their ******* minds. XD

I'm an IS pilot, and while I don't have any more trouble fighting clan mechs I have noticed that in a 12 vs 12 the clans have a slight advantage. This is how it should be and shows that PGI have done a bloody good job!

Well done PGI, keep it up!

IF you DO make competitions, MAKE SURE that you can't make 1 TIME-ZONE out of the world.

Make separate timezone competitions.

PS: MAKE the UI more ergonomical and less need for clicking.

So do we stillneed 12x 18 mio to found a unit?
Do we need really 12 people? Or does one just found it?

because the screen indicates, you created it alone (possibly at this point only for testing)

How does Clan/IS in Units work?

All mechs already come with C3i modules in them by default right now.

Without them you wouldn't be sharing targeting data with your team.

This is getting old and stupid.

If you had C3i (or C3), you'd be able to fire your guns using your team-mate's crosshairs,as it were- that is, I could fire my ERPPC at 700m using your screen to line up the shot from 200m away.

Sharing where a 'Mech is for spotting purposes is a trivial effort even 3025-era 'Mechs could perform without trying. Heck, ONE INFANTRY TROOPER can do it. And for the last time, YES spotters can fire while spotting. Get a modern rulebook, it's been that way for over a decade going on TWO.

MWO 'Mechs don't have any magic super-bonus C3 modules for free.

And to get back to subject:

Vindicators are cool and despite my dread for them actually functioning well, may pry loose the last of my hoarded MC. Because Capellan. That is all.

Really happy to see you looking at 10v12 assymetric matchmaking. Sounds excellent. Vindicator sounds great also. A map of the inner sphere should not have taken 3 years to achieve...

I'm afraid I won't be enjoying any of this new content until we get word that jump jets are going to be fixed. Still not a single word about jump jets and their currently useless state. Even just a simple, "we like the way they are now and have no plans to change them" or "we realize they're useless and are looking for a solution" would be helpful. Even though I primarily pilot mechs that don't have jump jets, I do also own a number that do; mechs that are currently a waste of hangar space due to JJ's current state.

Let me guess, a Victor? A Cataphract?

People cry and cry for things, then when they give us info on cool stuff thats coming, people just cry about more stuff. Grow up.

No one cares about jump jets beyond extra mobility and evasion which they do just fine how they are now. Except poptart snipers, so i am assuming you are one of those. In which case, learn to brawl.

Also, to hell with your Vindicator. You've stated previously that Clan Mechs competed for resourses with new maps. Now when you have Clan Mech release schedule for CBs and MCs at two mechs per month, you still not only polishing old assets (Spider weapons - OK, it's justifiable and good) but keep resourses allocated to new IS mech creation. Like 10th IS Medium is what we truly need now. I'll check unit management when it's out (our unit will probably start setting up when it will become possible) but I won't drop anymore until new map or, better yet, maps release (you'll hardly notice great impact of one map on players' interest as it will appear only randomly among all the old boring as hell maps). Of course neither will I buy Vindicator, at least for MCs.

Here, have it down your throat, lazy greedy schmucks. A list of WoT maps, 44 total (in Russian, 'cause English wiki page is obsolete and faulty formated). "Not a priority"? Your rascal @$$es sinking in Fraser River won't be a priority for me to throw a lifebouy at.

I have one question. With the implementation of CW Module 1, there seems to be a map of the Inner Sphere to be put into place. This will presumably be to give players information on the starting layout of the map to be used in CW, and the sizes of the various factions.

My question is, with this being put into place, will it also include information on the backgrounds and history of each faction (what is so often called 'lore') or at least links to sources the devs of MWO will set as the established sources for all factions within MWO? Otherwise, a player will wonder why they should play the Capellan Confederation or Rasalhague Republic when those states are so small. This would also help establish if MWO intends to be true to the established situations and be more than just an arena fighting game with an elaborate rankings board called "Community Warfare".

Yes, there are sources out there, but many players never go beyond the game itself for information, or don't know where to look (indeed, they would be confused reading some descriptions of equipment in those sources which conflict with that same equipment in MWO). Finally, we've never had any word from the devs if, for example, the Clan Wolf in MWO is the same Clan Wolf established in Battletech, or if they are re-imagining it to their own specifications (Merc use, total warfare, a unified Clan front against a unified Inner Sphere front, ect.).

Sometimes a good, mindless rant can clear the mind. Better now? No? Yes?

They have two maps in the works at the moment. Whether or not we agree with it, they are dedicated to a Call of Duty MP style approach with their maps, where everything must be hyper polished and detailed, even though it has no bearing on the actual game, rather than simpler, open maps like WoT. Point is, maps are coming. They take time. If you don't have patience for this game by now, you're probably never going to like it.

Also I like my Vindi. So shush you.

"Units can collect a communal C-Bill coffer through donations from its members."

So we should all start to create and grind a bunch of accounts for cadet bonus to populate our coffers?

@ Morang
Wargaming.net has a team of +150 people working on WoT alone, while the company has over 360 employees(. PGI has a little above 50); but I still understand your resentment in this. Awesome 8Q has not had its fix of weapons.
- But frankly, the CW is above and beyond any list of priority for me; and frankly I'd rather have some new IS steel on the Clan Front, when they will attack.
  • So all in all... I am personally just happy to get the CW module; anything else is just a bonus for me. The increase in communication & openness about the matters they do/work on has only increased my dedication to this game, IP & the work that the PGI staff members are doing.
I'm a happy camper on all sides right now.
- All that is left is August 19th that Russ Bullock mentioned about.

@LOADED!

I think, they mean that:

1. week: Hero Mech for MC
2. week: Normal Mechs for MC
3. week: Normal Mechs for CB...

But of course, I could be wrong again..
