Had some terrible desyncs and lag just now.

I am still moving around, but everyone else is frozen in place.

After a while everything snaps back.

The last round I had to log out and rejoin and when I got back in a lot of people were complaining of the lag.

Probably a big old memory leak in their code base that is zapping the memory in the server.

Time to schedule reboots for the server every 6 hours. We want to play!

I had a few games yesterday evening on pug-queue. No lags or desyncs noticed. Obviously, only some % of the games are affected. My crystal ball tells me that the servers are simply stressed too much, and the scheduler cannot allocate enough resources for some of them. But that would be weird, as PGI should be able to monitor that.

Also, when it is server performance, the scheduler would act like some real-time OS: Instead of punishing every process/thread now and then (as would be the case e.g. under a linux or standard unix server), it seems to consistently punish only some processes/threads. I assume the server side runs on windows (I had a glance at the developer desks, they are very much into the microsoft toolchain). Is anyone here who knows about windows server process scheduling?

From what I can gather from the replies to my ticket, and the single reference Russ made in twitter, we're not going to see a fix for this until 19th August earliest, if it works.

From the second support e-mail I was told the support ticket system is not the place to make claims for compensation, as if the company decided to reimburse, it would be done globally.

Which I found extremely strange as the compensation given out for the Maintenance bug or refund if you want to call it that, we HAD to use the ticket system to make a claim on a person by person basis.

I hate to say it, but PGI does need to do something to "make this right." We're sitting in these matches watching everyone jog in place for ten minutes before the server just disconnects you from the game. Or better yet, the server wakes up and you're two kilometers from where you thought you were and immediately explode. I'm burning premium time, and just as importantly, I'm burning my free time. I say I but I mean we. It doesn't happen every match, but it happens just enough to make you worry every match, though not with enough frequency to make you quit playing for the day. It's more than a mild inconvenience now, I think. I think the dead horse should continue to be beaten until someone with the company makes a more rigorous effort to address the issue, or even really acknowledge it. And I don't mean on Twitter.

The situation is globally significantly worse than it was only a few weeks ago - would be nice if we could get to know what happens and yeah, not every match is wasted but i would call 20% of the matches destroyed by that crap.

It was a mild inconvenience 3-4 days ago, when it happened only in 1 in 5-7 matches. I got rubberbanding/desync in 50% of the games today, it's getting really annoying really fast. One second everything is going fine, i'm going sneak-attacking an Atlas's armor-stripped back, the next thing i know everyone is moonwalking; 30sec after that I'm facehugging a wall and the Atlas i tried to sneak upon just blew open my side torso and my XL engine with it.
For crying out loud PGI do something , the game will become unplayable at this rate.

Yep it has been laggy as hell for the past few days. They need to get one this **** or replace the dead hamster in the server.

Desync seems extra bad in the weekends for me,
bit annoyed to see my premium time wasted on horrible games cos of this issue

compesation for the wasted premium time would been nice.

Had 2 desyncs in the same match. Had to alt F4 out of the second one. I actually feel embarrassed for PGI with how bad their server performance is.

still happening to me too. Every 2-4 game everyone just runs in place for a while, then bang they are back. My light is history. Really hard to do good in a tourney when this happens.

Also having this problem PGI.

Two games played this morning, both disrupted by this nonsense. In fact, one just flat out died completely and disco'd us all.
