With PPCs being slow, we still need anti-light/medium weapons, and that's where lasers should come into play. Being able to track a Clan ERLL over 2 seconds will be really difficult. I suspect that all these nerfs may allow C-LPL to be considerable, or people will just pack more C-ERML. I really dislike having to figure new combinations to circumvent heat scale. I wish you would just increase the beam duration and heat of the C-ERLL to 1.75 and 10 heat. I think it would make it pretty damn difficult to use, but still rewarding for those who are skilled enough.

and clan erll's are done. They fall off 90% of the builds out there tomorrow.

Doing some smaller nerfs would definitely have been good, but so many nerfs at once is just... wow. Why would you do that?
I also don't think that the 40% speed nerf to the PPCs was necessary. Maybe 25%. Why the huge nerfs? You will be able to achieve better balance with smaller nerfs at a time. Large overnerfs are just going to piss off your player base.

The numbers sound drastic, but the only one that makes a noticeable change is the beam duration increase. Holding a beam at long range is going to require high player skill to get full damage on target.
So what about the clan light mechs that are too slow, and too under-gunned to go toe to toe with IS lights, can't brawl and rely on ranged weapons because that's about all they are really good for.
These are mechs that have bad hardpoint allocation, low engine caps, and do not pack 20+ heatsinks.
Also, and I'm trying to remain civil, you shouldn't insult your customer base's intelligence with comments like this:
"Holding a beam at long range is going to require high player skill to get full damage on target..."
To get a beam on target for a full 2 seconds requires your target to be completely asleep.
If you don't want rage threads, don't insult your players with statements like this.
