I could make a long post about the balancing of the different classes but the current system clearly has its disadvantages. The role warfare doesn't really work, since everything is still very much centered around killing (which is kinda the obvious goal). Therefore we need a system to balance the classes a little bit.

It should be pretty self-explanatory.

Examples:
- The player kill an assault mech in a medium mech and gets 125xp instead of the normal 100.
- If an assault kills a heavy mech he only gets 90XP, etc...

Numbers are of course up to discussion, as well as the light class as baseline. The same principle could be centered around the medium class for example as well.

It may sound drastic at first - especially on the edges - but i still think its doable and it would be a fair bonus for the lower classes (at least until real role warfare is implemented).

I've long thought the game needed something like this. Truth be known I'd take it a step further and penalise people for queuing as over populated weights (heavy and assault) but this would be a great first step.

The idea of putting kills ahead of everything else can really detract from some of the lighter scout designs, like the Locust and Commando. Maybe give these Mech's a bonus for spotting enemies, capturing points and destroying turrets. Mediums could be the same as they are now, Heavies and Assaults could get a bonus for taking damage (use that armour!), but receive no bonus for spotting enemies.
