Pilots...Drivers...guys...dudes...who uses srm4+artemis and srm4\srm6 tell me plz what is better for you, and artemis really needs for srm4? i play with artemis and when i whit it i really thinks that i do more damage...or its just my fantasy - my stats says accurasy is - srm 6 -35% , srm4+artemis -37%. what can you say??

SRM 4's waste artemis as they're decently accurate anyway, a 6 spreads far more so I tend to use artemis with those.

I use the BAP because I am trying to get better at putting damage in smart areas instead of just spreading it all over. The faster info gathering helps me with this because I get impatient waiting for it without the BAP. Also the counter ECM is helpful to the whole team if I can get close and keep lock on that kitfox long enough for my team mates to wreck it with lrm's it can Turn the battle in our favor. The last thing is I do a lot of spotting and make a ton of c-bills off of it so it helps a lot there. It is one of those things that I don't notice so much when I am using it as when I am not it feels like locks take forever. If you have the GXP and c-bills I believe the TIG module does about the same thing but I am not there yet so I use BAP.

Also, the srm6 works good if you get in close so your damage stays more focused. I am actually considering srm4 + Artemis so I can be effective at longer range.

i can easily notice the spread difference between the 4 with and with out artemis which is why I take it. I am often shooting targets are almost max range and I want as accurate of a cluster as I can get at all ranges. I feel make it a big difference.

sure aretmis isn't needed if you spend your time shooting everything at 100m or less.

I just added Artemis to my srm-4 and it definitely makes a difference in spread when you get out past 100m. I think it is worth it for me because I like the option of being able to engage at the longer ranges. The srm 6 does more damage but I found I had to be REALLY close to get all the missiles to hit the target let alone hit a specific area. That said, the srm6 can be very devastating if you like to run up and hug your target and then alpha. So I would say it depends a lot on your play style whether you use Artemis or not.

yup you gotta be an ankle biter in the locust and even in the fast 25 and 30 tonners as speed and maneuverability while dancing around a slower mech is usually way more survivable than trying to tag/lrm/erLL things from a distance.

fade in, hit, circle, drop uav, hit, circle, drop atry, run like hell to cover and repeat. Works best when they are already distracted.

Also 4srm2s 1 small laser and 3 tons of srm ammo in an anklebiting locust is just as much fun as the anansi

I am about 2 or 3 drops from getting an xl190 then I can get practiced up on my ankle biting. So far my best run in a locust is . . . I survived :)

I believe the TIG module does about the same thing but I am not there yet so I use BAP.

It does do the same thing; in fact TIG and BAP stack, so when you do get there, try both. Reduces target scan time to an eyeblink. :) I use the combo to great effect with my boomjack and gauss snipers.

Is there a role that Anansi fulfills that isnt done better by another light? It seems like it is just something to finish out the spider lineup.

Well basically it is a smaller faster jump capable stock raven 4X. Other lights can only imitate builds that where you use 2 weapon types of the 3. I guess it just fits in with the brawler/harasser jenners and firestarters but smaller.

With the ability to turn off AMS at will, I was looking into incorporating 2xAMS+1T ammo to my standard ANANSI build. I came up with this build, and I'm really happy with it. This 'Mech tends to get lurmed a lot since I'm always flanking and probing and AMS helps a lot.

It's a very good "kill securer". Basically this mech has the durability to endure focus fire from the whole enemy team like no light has. 2xML+2xMG+SRM combo has enough punch to quickly take out wounded 'Mechs. Best of all, if you get somehow ignored or catch mechs 1v1, you get to rack up a lot of damage. I had this game yesterday, it's definitely one of my favourite lights. I'd put it right beside the Ember.

Well thats the thing, almost-an-ember isnt really compelling, and I cant think of anything it does better than some other light. Even the 5V has a unique role with the 12 jump jets (not that its terribly useful but its there). Almost seems that the Anansi is just for people who are already invested in Spiders. Not that there's anything wrong with that, its just not a positive argument for buying one, more of a gift pack for Spider owners.

This might be true, I am a spider pilot so I am sure that makes me biased, but I find it to be a very useful mech, I like the way spiders handle a little bit better than the firestarters (although I like the firestarters a lot as well) and they are a "lower priority" mech than an ember so you tend to be overlooked more. You also have the smaller profile which gives it an advantage as well. But, you are right it is not likely that the Anansi is going to replace the Ember as a competition mech, and you probably won't find much use for it if you don't already enjoy running spiders.

Yeah it is more of a different thing for spider battlemech lovers. Missiles when the others have none, just like how the commando hero has all energy and no missiles.

Steal away I say, if someone it too slow to finish their kill then so be it. Especially since the Anansi comes with 2 machine guns.

People get more cbills for assists anyway.
