Uh...why are there no Clan faction emblems on the leaderboard? I don't like representing Steiner

for all those events.. i just dont get it why do you guys still relying on kills to get the most points...

you really have to change that **** and count the match scores and the most important "stat".
its just like everytime, kill [claimers] everywhere and the match objectives are totally ignored (not skirmish of course) and ppl taking more damage from friendly fire than from the enemy...

i just dont get it....

I cant help but point out that every one of my matches has seen a ridiculous amount of missile and arty spam, even more so because of the tournament. Each game is a wipe for whoever has less LRMs. Not saying LRMs need a nerf, just the shear amount is overwhelming. Even with AMS and ECM, it just makes me not want to play.....

We're currently under a legal restriction from Quebec law where-in we cannot offer more than $100.00 in total prize value from a promotional contest. The alternative is a mountain of red-tape and paperwork to register the contest with the provincial gambling bureau.

As such, we looked at 3 alternative ways to deliver prizes for this competition, including reducing the number of prizes and dropping the top level prize: We felt the path we took was the safest of the options, but you are more than welcome to disagree and let us know why! There will be plenty more events like this in the future and room to adjust with each one.

[redacted]

And if history has show us Canadians anything it's that Quebec doesn't give a rat's patoottie about the rest of Canada.... other than to impose their own laws/rules on everyone else because Quebec....

Hey Niko, I don't think the faction icons are working properly on the leaderboard. I'm not seeing any clan icons from people I'm pretty sure are using one.

Edit: I think every clan faction icon is defaulting to Steiner house icon instead.

IS board is showing my faction correctly whereas clan board shows me as Steiner =\

I think it's awesome you took the time and effort to post this to show us the regulations you have to operate under!!!!! And lame as **** it doesn't actually say what you claim it does. All most every single item from rule 5 & 6 as already been followed, the only thing missing is an entry page for the contest (and one of those might already be up but I hadn't looked for it yet.) It's my exact feelings towards this game in a nutshell. Extreme happiness at the claims of what and why something is going to happen, followed by bitter disappointment at the reality of what is. Why even bother to compete in this contest with thousands & thousands of other people when only the top 5 get prizes..? Waste of time but hey if it drums up more players on the servers... good job, I guess.

What Zhoul said.

Quite disappointed that you guys would try to weasel your way out of giving more prizes for such an insane challenge. Who tries to buy lottery tickets for prizes less than $100???

Rules 5 and 6 apply to ALL publicity contests with prize values above $100and you're not able to comply with that? Well done PGI.

Can you add ingame stuff that doesn't have a direct $$$ value like cbills, mechbays, mechs, GXP etc to the reward bundles rather than just straight MC? or that comes down to the same problem.

I wouldn't think so since they have an unlimited number of mechbays to give away these past two weekends. I think its because real world $$$ translates directly into MC. If there's a middle ground between the item being purchased and real world currency, it doesn't encounter these legal issues. Its why Xbox has "Microsoft Points", and the Playstation has "Playstation Points". Its why a lot of arcades and casinos have the consumer exchange real money for fake money that only works in their business. I don't know if this flies in Quebec, but it seems to in the rest of North America, as well as Australia and Europe. I think this is also another reason why this credit is tied to one account and cannot be moved from one to another.

OT: Yeah, I'd be like second from the bottom of the leaderboard, so I'm not even going to sign up. Is fun watching who is on top though. It'd be awesome to see the top winners in each category play in one single match together, 4 v 4.

I like how on the tabs for the tournament leader board it has; cataphract/catapult, dragon/jagermech, and quickdraw/assult, but they got the light/medium right.

Its certainly interesting to compare the scores for each of the top lists.

At the time of this snapshot:
Lights seems to Favour InnerSphere IS 1793-2280 vs Clan 1549-2157
Mediums close but Clans slightly ahead. IS 1713-2184 vs Clan 1735- 2221
Heavys IS 1639-2115 vs Clan 1954-2543
and Assaults IS 1832-2255 vs Clan 1851-2815

The Clans are clearly a long way ahead in the > 50 tons ranges
