was having an enjoyable time trying to get up on the tournament board.. 900+ damage, several kills... awesome.

took a lunch break, came back... and desync hell... it's been happening every other game to the point where I can't play properly. Very frustrating as I had hope to work on the tourny and get a good result in but I doubt it's gonna happen. Today alone got disconnected from every game, rejoined and found the game frozen and then everyone moving around and dying in 3 seconds...

very lame..

De-syncs (not server lag or connectivity issues) were introduced with the patch that allowed users to re-connect. 100% certain.

Hey I'm so glad you bring this! Totally forgot about it!
With the crappy optimized game state that we currently have it takes about ~2 mins on quite a decent PC to be able to join back into the game.
That if you've Alt+F4 it, caues there were no responce from the game, it froze, or any other of the buggy stuff you can think of - you're FORCED to watch all the crappy intro(the first 1 or 2 screens can't be skipped by bashing space), after that you wait for the endless "connecting..." progress circle(cause, you know - downloading background data from the server is sooooooo mainstream - it's far better to just download all in the start, even if that sometimes means having to wait, without hyperbole - 1:30 or 2 mins), click rejoin, "connecting" again, map loading - both of which takes way too long just because again we're downloading all thee data from the server!
And hey - you're in!
But wth is that? You're getting swarmed by LRMs? You're cored, dead?
The game thought you've accelerated toward somewhere and let you do that so you ended up out of bounds?
Well... you can at least rejoin now right?

PGI's server supplier recieved a court order to reposses about half of them due to a lack of payment ;) .

Yea I am kidding. One of the server side updates is screwing up probably.

Unacceptable. They should have fixed this immediatly. But it's PGI: expect nothing.

AT 12:20 PM EST.. FIRST match of day, and had to reconnect to find my Mech being shot to pieces..

yeah. Had the best clan match yet last night, was just 2 left each side, all of us cored but fully armed, 1200 damage...7 kills, whole match goes desync sideways. Really annoying. Wondering if either my ISP server can't always handle the traffic load, or if MWO is so bloody bandwidth intensive atm that it chokes?

There's some evidence that PGI sometimes goofs when it comes to network traffic management. I had to upgrade my router at one point because there was so much UDP traffic that my router would drop a lot of packets thinking it was UDP flooding and I had no way to adjust those settings. I created a custom profile with the new one and everything was fine. That said, I know it's a tough thing to balance. Too little traffic and too much traffic both introduce their own problems. Granted, I have no idea if the desynchs and disconnects are traffic related or not this time around though.

I've started seeing this as well over Saturday, Sunday and again today. Before this weekend it was a while since I last played, maybe 2-4 weeks, everything was fine back then. Definately a recent development. My ping is fine (130 ish from UK) but its like the whole server freezes for about 10-15 seconds, everyone is just walking on the spot and nobody is firing.

You are correct, but my patience wasn't fully gone till this past week.... before... I could blow it off, now it is too frequent for me and driving me to the point of dropping the game.

PGI should be embarrassed for themselves after this weekend... constant lag spikes and server de-sync in every other match. Great way to advertise the game to the masses on a double event weekend. Smart move keeping the fix until the Tuesday patch instead of hot fixing it before the weekend, I`m sure all the new players that joined MWO this weekend were impressed by the state of the game.

OK, that`s it... probably my fifth game in a row completely ruined by lag spikes... nothing ruins an 8 kill, 1500 dmg game like server de-sync, right PGI? I'll see if the server is any better after dinner, but for now this crap is unplayable.

Had 2 games last night where we had massive desyncing.

One game, I saw 5-6 mechs disconnect, by the time I rejoined I was the only one alive and took the win (without fighting further).

Second game we had 4 on our side sync out long enough to get shot up.

I presume I'm speaking correctly with my term. What happens is everyone freezes for about 30 seconds to a minute, then everything crashes back, and hopefully I'm still alive.
