So.... Vindi Hero looks...underwhelming for IRL money, but all 4 variants are up for evaluation and building.

Vindicator 1R and 1X will be the metas of the Vindicators.
Just saying it now.

there is another thread that showed a picture. it looks too be about as tall as a blackjack, so its much smaller than the 50-55 tonners.

And yes, it has shades.

The LPL build is interesting, but surely the Blackjack is a much superior sniper / poptart than the Vindicator? Too early to tell, I guess. But on paper, I'd prefer sniper weapons on the high mounts of the Black Jack, rather than lowslung arms on a 45 ton mech.

LBX for a range fight? And the second build isn't valid, only 9 heat sinks. But I will be experimenting with gauss on this thing, for sure.

Unless it's considerably smaller than the Treb, I'm not sure I see the point.

The Treb would be faster, have more armour, have all lasers mounted on the arms. Just seems superior overall.

because the Treb is a barndoor?

Tried to turn the hero into some kind of missile support here...

I highly doubt the 1X. I question the 1R. The 1AA is the one that most interests me.

Well, their arms should guard the STs some, which should be good XL news. But since toughness was supposed to be their hallmark, I do hope they have good hitboxes.

Something interesting to note is that it says the 1R and 1X have +5% armor strength (full body) quirks. Seems like a pretty minor buff. But I guess its something.

Humanoid shape, low arms, jumpjets, ~100kph speed, armor bonus, and a closed missile door. It at least sounds resilient for a 45 ton mech.

AC/20 Blackjack ring a bell? AC/10 Vindicator, Gauss Rifle Vindicator. AC/10 + PPC Vindicator.

The 1AA has the fewest hardpoints. Though the second AMS is kinda nice...honestly though twin AMS mechs have been pretty worthless against LRM torrents, though.
The 1R has the same hardpoints + 1 more energy (one AMS, but honestly as I said twin AMS hasn't proven very worthwhile lately).

Well, I did say "unless it's considerably smaller", but anyway. Not exactly hard to hit such a slow moving mech. Same problem as Clan light mechs. Their small size doesn't make up for their lack of speed.

You can't put an AC20 on the Vindicator. Part of it (1X) competes with the BJ-1 (the BJ-1 is still solid despite all the changes). The other part (1R) competes with the BJ-3.

In essence, it doesn't really seem competitive in that sense.

The 1AA is the speed demon. While it's not hardpoint filled like the BJ-1X, you can use the speed for your own benefit. I've run the Wolverine-6K before... you can actually make something out of this... plus you have JJs to go with it. It depends how big the arms are however (anything resembling the Centurion or Trebuchet is bad for business).
