just dropping by to keep this thread zombie-ing along, but also to say that I really like playing with my Vindis. Got the standard champion 2PPC build on the AA, got a 5MPL build on the R, and we don't talk about the X

Owner of an 1X vindi here had a blast in a game earlier with a lrm 15, ac5 and 2 med lasers, just shy of 350 damage, shoot i think i even got a kill, the vindi love is real with the last bit of stuff pgi changed on the chassis

Hey, I love me some Vindi's - house pride n all!
The last hero sale I doubled down and got the SIB, best I can come up with is MPL's and ASRM6's - not exciting or creative but the damn thing is nigh indestructible when I fit it with a STD engine.

Forget the Vindi just get a Panther 10K it does the PPC sniper job better imo. The panther is smaller, faster, and is better at short range due to the SRM's. The panther is also cheaper and has similar armor.

People don't run vindicators because it's optimal. No need to point out that there are better mechs available for any given task. People run it in order to achieve mediocrity and meet the challenge of being minimally viable.

The Panther is a worse VND-AA.
Not a better one.
It's not even really faster (given AA is quite fast), it's main difference is being too hot for double ERPPCs and thus having to "sniper" from a much less snipy range.

Concerning Vindicators, I have the 1X working quite well with this configuration:

LRM20 + LPL + ML + 3 MGs.

It's an all phases of the match build, but it does its job well.

I've actually come to like the 1X as my favourite of the bunch somehow. It took me a while to figure out, but I eventually got to a build I liked and I've stuck to it ever since.

I really like the AC10/ERPPC combo on such a (comparatively) light chassis.
