Just checked mine for the first time. it says 1.87, but I don't really have a reference point. What is a good K/D/ ratio?

Keep in mind that the K/D ratio doesn't really mean anything in terms of your elo. That said, I would think that anything in the positive would be good.

K/D doesn't even mean anything in terms of your performance. A pair of machineguns on a locust will get you kills. Doesn't mean you earned them.

If you're giving better than you get then you're fine. If we had an average damage per match stat that would be a much more useful thing.

It's your win/loss that's the thing to really be worried about.

I'd say 1.00 and better is good. The trick though is that it doesn't paint the whole picture. I could have a 2.00 kdr and someone else could have 1.50 against much stronger opponents than I face.

I just say 1.00 because it would seem at that point you're giving as good as you're getting.

Actually don't worry about any of those things unless your insecure and your ego needs stroking.

My two cents?

K/Dr is a yardstick for yourself. If it's improving, that's what you want.

I have seen players refuse to fight here for fear of damaging their KDR. What's the fun in that?

KDR is important to stat warriors, not so much if you just enjoy playing.

Over 1 when playing solo, over 2 when grouping up (both for W/L and KDR). If you can add 1 or more consistently, congrats on carrying hard.

It will often vary from mech to mech based on role.

My dual PPC Cicada has a KDR of 4.00. My triple AC2 Dragon is at 0.73

KDR is generally meaningless. An Atlas won a match for us earlier by pushing forwards and taking the focus fire while the rest of the team opened every available torso. He went down with no kills but we'd have lost if he didn't draw the fire.

So while having a KDR above 1.00 is good, having a negative KDR does not necessarily mean that player is bad.

You can get Damage per match using the greasemonkey script here:
http://mwomercs.com/...-profile-stats/

It's pretty cool - it adds lots of totals/averages to the stats page and also allows for sorting the data on each category.

I prefer to look at wins to lose in a team play based game like this, since w/l is like the teams k/d, while k/d is better in an everyman for him self environment

I personally just divide total damage by total matches

Now why would you go and do it a way that makes sense like that?

1.87 is better than mine, so yeah, I'd be happy with that :)

To date i've been almost exclusively a solo pugger, in Mediums and skirmishing.

So i've focused more on keeping my Damage Per Match >300, and only relying on weapons that I can keep at an accuracy of 75% or greater.

If you're getting 300+ damage, using accurate fire, as a medium... you're just naturally going to reach a positive KDR.

I've recently made it over 1+ KDR and who knows where it'll stop climbing.

Another thing... if you care about KDR, stay away from skirmish as there's no way to lose + live. I don't give two hoots about KDR, only improving my piloting & gunnery skills, so I stick with skirmish only.

Any you are satisfied with.

Really, it's only a silly statistic. :)

w/l is more important of the stats, if you're over 1.0 there then you're helping the team more than you're not. k/d i personally would like to keep over 1.0 even though i know a lot of those kills are of the "alpha the guy in the back who's at 70% and hey it died" variety. plus i'm working on mastering all 5 Locusts so if i can still keep my kdr over 1 despite playing them more than half my matches i consider that an accomplishment.

"Ok just played 8 matches in locusts to get 1 win for each of them, that means i only need 8 kills this match in <non locust mech> to balance my kdr for the day!" :)
