You'll appreciate this.

Yeah, that's pretty much the only way to fight them: play peak-a-boo, don't expose yourself at range, focus on taking out a side torso first (rather than CT, halving their weapons), and then focus on the other torso. Perfect.

Even knowing what to do, it's hard, and it should be.

Great post, as always, Kon.

I'd like to see a Grasshopper in that situation: not as "tanky," but quicker and more agile. Not sure which traits would be more survivable.

Linkage is appreciated here.

Though, I kinda suspect a heavy, before we go Mauler or something along those lines.

Though, this is from May 23rd apparently.

Well, according to the pics, they seem to be sorted by weight class... so go figure.

Oh, man - right?? I'd love to have my Steiner Zeus to stomp around in, but I think the Grasshopper is the more likely heavy to drop.

As for the Mauler...would be interesting. Definitely a heavy-hitter to deal with the Clan mechs, but then again, all those guns are low-slung in a barn-sized torso. Not sure it will hold up to the withering fire the TBR and Direwhale can bring to the table.

All you guys must hate the Guillotine because I think it looks way cooler than the Grasshopper.

I think 1the next mech is  an assault. Mauler  maybe Zeus. the only way the King Crab will show up  is in the Clan Buster pack at firstmy call!

I really think IS could use a dual gauss assault to deal with clan.

Though, I honestly don't know what heavy IS can get to even up with timberwolf. A 75 ton jumpjet heavy?

Marauder but......you can't see the unseen hehe.

Will assume that it will be a light mech. The list for light mech is thinning out a bit.

My choice:
Javelin

I'd like to see the Javelin with a few extra Missile hard points. It has decent speed for a 30 tonner (Starts with a 180 @ 97.2 KPH) so you can get it to go 140+ with upgraded engine sizes (up to a 250 engine I think). Could be the Jenner - Oxide but missiles in the torsos rather than arms. Also the 10F is all energy instead of all missile 10N so they can be played totally different. The only other model available is the 10P because the others are 3053 and forward. Also the hero mech listed has clan tech in it.

Mercury and Hermes are out because they're both MASC mechs, right?

Panther would be a good bet - they seem to be releasing more faction-specific mechs.

Warhammer's out - Harmony Gold owns the rights. Same with the Archer, Longbow, Marauder, and Pheonix Hawk. A few others who are slipping my mind at the moment.

well i am going to call two right one. we only have two 70 ton mechs. the Cataphract and the Summoner. the rest are 60 or 65 tons

its either going to be the grasshopper http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Grasshopper

or the guillotine http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Guillotine

or POSSIBLY the Excalibur http://www.sarna.net...ur_(BattleMech)

those are the only ones that have enough variants

the thing is i am leaning more to the grasshopper (yuck another human looking mech)

but i would prefer the guillotine because its not a human looking mech

Isn't the Mauler the only confirmed and unreleased IS mech at the moment?

Yeah, but these are the same bunch that call Shadowhawks as Trebuchets. For all we know, it could be a Lancelot

So with the roll-out of the Vindicator (nice job, PGI - it has me debating it, and I'd typically rather scrub myself with a cheese-grater than buy a Liao mech), what's next?

The Flea is still sitting out there, awaiting the implementation of the MASC, but that one's probably a ways off.

I know the King Crab is on the radar, but I think it's still a ways out (probably part of a Clanbuster pack).

Grasshopper? Seems like it's most likely, but who can say.

So far, the count of mechs looks like this:

Lights: 6
Mediums: 10
Heavies: 7
Assaults: 7

That seems to suggest the next would be a Light.

What think you, dear reader?

Vindicator Hero: DON'T DO IT

Harmony Gold has no claim against anything shown in that photo.

The Unseen/Reseen currently in MWO are from Crusher Joe (the Locust) and Dougram (everything else in the Phoenix packages); none of them come from Macross.

Don't know which podcast it was..!
