North America (USA)

I have not had enough time as yet to evaluate Ping.
I can say the following however:

I ran into de-syncs twice this afternoon. By that I take it that a de-sync is when the game up and freezes on the screen during combat. It has been a long time since one of those took place in the Live server. All I had to do was hit Esc, Alt-Tab, open the Task Manager, Exit out of it, and then I could back into the game. This worked both times.

There were several instances, more than usual in the Live server, where "Searching" for a match took way too long.

FPS rate was not in any way noticeably different from the Live server envoronment.

My connection is via broadband cable and the advertised speed is 20 Mbps

  • What is your average ping in the Public Test? 35
  • How does your ping compare to the Live environment? 60 on Live so I like it!
  • Did you experience any de-syncs in-game? not me personally but only played 2 games. Live I desync 1 out of 6.
  • Did you experience any stalls while saving in the front end? Saving a new build took longer than Live, but nothing horrible and it never froze.
  • If experiencing negative connectivity; What is your ISP, connection type and advertised speed? N/A

Connection: Bell, Fibe, 15mbps.

First Drop: Screen Froze, sound indicated I was still in the match, but I couldn't get screen to unfreeze from the first moment the match started.

Second Drop: CTD after about a minute into the match (After looking at the Map).

Third Drop: Proving Grounds CTD after Alt-Tabbing.

Forth Drop: Proving Grounds again, worked fine.

Took a break...

Fifth Drop: Ping ~42, FPS ~31 (Ping and FPS are roughly the same as the live servers), no problems for me, though others did loose connection and two others got stuck on the map.

Sixth Drop: Ping ~40, FPS ~31, after two minutes (13:17 left on the timer) Screen Froze again, I was able to drop out and Rejoin, but died shortly there after.

Seventh Drop: No crashes, no sticking, no freezing, about the same ping and FPS as before.

Eight Drop: Matched started up, unable to move, activate map, fire weapons, but able to access chat. Quit Match and Rejoined, no further problems during match.

Ninth Drop: Same Ping and FPS, no problems encountered.

Tenth Drop: Momentary lock up, Ctrl-Alt-Del worked to resolve the issue, otherwise, same as before.

Not really a "connectivity"-issue but no other place to put it:

On every drop the game would freeze about 1 or 2 minutes into the match with the sound still playing correctly, switching to another task and back again would resume the game without any further problems.

Did 5 drops in 2 different 'mechs, happened every time.

Had that occasionally happen a long time ago on the production servers, it stopped there (also long ago)for whatever reason.

pt ping 260-270
le ping 285-310
no de-syncs
1 stall in front end, was configuring a mech while another was in a match, match ended and "refreshing data" stalled
no negative connectivity

Sorry but there is no other place I can put this.

I have been downloading the PT client since yesterday (yes I know my internet is crap) although it did pause over night for some reason but reconnected and carried on.

As I Type this it is now at 5700/5433.82 MB and still counting, which seems very odd to me.

Do I have an issue or is it just the extra patch downloading?

I have never run the PT client before and I am reluctant to stop and start again now as I wont get the client downloaded again before the test is over.

Help?
Suggestions?

I suggest you stop it then run the Repair Tool by clicking little gear top right corner.

In fact what I did to save time and bandwidth was to copy the MWO directory over the Puclic Test one (the directory will be created after the 1st run of PT client) then ran the Repair Tool twice and all was set.

Hope it helps.

Game crashed on first load. I was able to rejoin, but it didn't load the HUD. So I just shot at anything that looked hostile. The HUD came back after I overheated. I had been apparently TK'ing the whole time I didn't have a HUD. Oops.

Possibly client issue and not connectivity related, not sure where to put it.

Purchased new Vindy hero. No issue.
Clicked 'Configure' then 'Loadout' and the client crashed with no notifications.

70-80 ping on both on test and live. Big FPS drops in the center of the new map, way better toward the edges.

I've had a 2-digit ping every match.
About the same as the live environment.

Matchmaking is sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

And, the time matchmaking took less than 5 minutes, my client crashed to desktop.
I liked being able to rejoin the match, though. This was my first time using that feature.

Agree with seemingly Slow Match Making. Could just be low test server population at 9PM (CDT) on Friday.

I think you mean SLOW

Minimum 3 minutes each time for me, I asked others and I'm not alone but some are able to find a match in 20-30 seconds.

My ping is about the same, which is below 80.

Client crashed to desktop, let me reconnect, move about 5 seconds and froze. Had to close and reopen the client and rejoin, just to see my mech killed.

Most games took a very long time to connect.
