Well considering previous challenges like the kill's or assists were DOABLE in the group queue... why make a solo only challenge that is based on a condition that is extremely painful to archive without speed dropping though multiple chassis or sync dropping solo dropping to try and bias teams.
But then you want to defend everything PGI does? alrighty then... your opinion...

Not the kind where one team just plays bad, but the kind where the MM stacks player skill, tonnage and clan mechs.
Add in the shameful display of sync-dropping to that aswell.

that's not an event issue. just because you can win rewards in teh solo queue this weekend doesn't and shouldn't mean you suddenly stop playing as a team. Would I rather it have been available to group queue ALSO? Sure, but that has nothing to do with the event itself or the rewards.
I think it's interesting that a lot of players are now complaining about things like "my team sucks" like this event suddenly changed the way the game is played?
Come on guys, 50 wins isn't that hard to get. I think it's pressing it a bit to get those in 2 days but I'd MUCH rather have challenges based on TEAM wins as opposed to "i got a kill this game, screw the win and the rest of my team"

If the prize was a Vindicator (just a C-bill variant, with an additional mechbay of course), then the prize matches the effort committed to the process.
6.5m C-bills is somewhat of a "disappointing bonus" to some degree.

No its an underlying issue with how the game is setup. There's a reason I refuse to play in pugs, no ability to communicate. I'm not talking about kills Sandpit, I'm talking about coordination.
