Yes, I understand that a solo player who is done with his challenge is still playing to win. As would groups be playing to win, because what else would we want to do when we play this zero sum game?
The challenge is to get to 50 wins (or 10 or 20, or whatever level you think is right for you). Now, there has been much discussion about group play versus solo play here on the forums (and I imagine on reddit and elsewhere) in terms of how grouping up has an effect on an individual's win/loss ratio.
Is it "easier" to win when grouped? Do some groups have a better chance at winning versus other groups?
For a win based challenge, I think limiting it to solo players does a better job at leveling the playing field for everyone--more so than allowing group wins to count. This is my opinion. Also, as an event labeled as a "challenge" there are an awful lot of people claiming it is "too hard" to do alone. Challenges are hard, otherwise this would be the Path to Victory give-away.
I agree with you that the field of play must be level for everyone, but having a Challenge or Event that is excluisvly for SOLO players excludes the Group only Players or at least those who spend the Majority of their time in the Group Queue. Why can we not compete for challenges in the Group Queue? I'm not saying we need to mix with SOLO players (glad that was fixed, bad judge of skill anyway for a large group/12 man) but had you used/seen my previous post in quote and not taken it out of context you would see I asked for Competitions like this to offer two queues of competition just like the normal queue does. SOLO and GROUP, I just don't get why Groups are excluded from these things....brings players back to bad habits over the weekend.

I don't think it was "too hard" I think it took too much time for the Average Solo player and Group guys who got it done just dropped multiple mechs as fast as they can, either suicide or power down if it looks bad and try another. I got my 20 plus wins and I was fine with that but getting to 50 alone just seemed boring and grindy to me. I took the time to Master my Kit Foxes so its wasn't a waste or anything but after that I was done, That is hours and hours of play time away from my group....I just didn't get it. Was backwards of everything I wanted and worked for since I have started playing....CW, Group play, VOIP. If i wanna play alone I will bust out the SNES or PS1.
